hi everyone
my name is eve,i've been going through this site for a while now and decided to take the plunge and join in
i have been to disney once back in november 2001 and i feel there is alot of things i didn't see and do:( :( so much so that i feel as though i haven't been at all
anyway our family is made up of my dear husband and 2 kids charlie who is 11 and jack who is 7:D :D
anyhow enough about us lets get down to buisness:rolleyes:  we are wanting to make use of the jet-lag(we were up at 4.30am last time)and head to a park and do a character breakfast(didn't do character dining last time:( )which one should we make use of?how early do they start?what are the buses like, how early do they start running for breakfast dining??when we finished breakfast do we get to stay in the park or do we have to leave?? oh by the way we are staying at the all star movies in sep-oct 04
sorry sooo many questions:rolleyes:   i look forward to hearing your opinions
eve:D :D :D :D

We're very partial to the Crystal Palace. We've done CRT, PSB in Norway and Chef Mickey's. By far the CP has the best buffet. Love the Puffed French Toast and omlets made to order. Just my opinion...you're likely to get many ;)

What's the Winnie the Pooh and friends Character meal like ? This is at Crystal Palace isn't it ?

Kev.

Welcome to the DIS Eve :) ! Glad you decided to post :)

The character breakfasts usually start at 7.30am in the resorts and 8.00am in the parks.

Character Breakfast busses set off half an hour before the earliest seating.

I'd select a breakfast according to which are your favorite characters - the Crystal Palace character meals are with Winnie The Pooh and Friends - VERY popular buffet breakfast! As you can see from nhmomx2's post, the food is good!
Or you could go to Chef Mickeys at the Contemporary Resort another popular buffet breakfast - very close to the Magic Kingdom so you can make for the park after your breakfast, then there's Donald's Breakfastosaurus in the Animal Kingdom with none other than Donald Duck!
(The MGM Studios no longer has any character meals).

I figure Charlie won't want to ruin his street cred by going to the breakfasts with the Princesses ;)

Welcome Eve -

Our favourites are Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's and Donald's Resonasaurus.

The only character breakfast I've had was at Chef Mickey's (twice). The food was excellent, with loads of choice. The service was very good and the character interaction was also very good. The sight of the monorail going through the hotel was pretty weird too. If it's your 1st day, then I'd go for this option as it puts you close to the Magic Kingdom, which we like to visit on the first day.

Welcome

My vote goes to Donalds Breakfastsaurus which is in Animal Kingdom.

Not only Donald Duck but Mickey Mouse & approx 3 other characters I think.

The food was great & nothing was rushed & we had a great server.

We went for a later time & hit the rides first whist it was still quiet. We definately didn't neede to stop- for lunch.

This breakfast is included in the list of free ones when you buy a 10 day pass at the moment.

Welcome to the Dis Eve:wave:

On our first day we are going to AK we have an 8.10am PS for Donald's Breakfastaurus:D We have done this twice before. The food was great and this might be suited better to the ages of your children. The server's play practical jokes with you too.

We have a Breakfastosaurus Character Brekkie PS too.
Really looking forward to it.
Last trip we did the Hollywood and Vine with Film Star Minnie and Gangster Goofy - that was brilliant. It is such a pity that it is no more.......

Cath :D

We`ve got a Donalds Breakfastaurus at 8.10am too, but are going on our second week. We have booked Ice Cream Social for our first day.

wow so many replies:D thank you all for your suggestions, wdwfan,uk charlie wasn't impressed with the princess thing(altough i'd love to the boys are not keen)
we love all the characters so it woulndn't matter which one we picked first,i suppose doing chef mickey's and then getting to magic kingdom early gives us that disney magic straight away, but also donald's breakfast sounds fun too:D :D anyways got plenty of time to try to make up our minds so
thank you all very much for helping us out
eve:wave:

Hi -I'm with everyone else who voted for Animal Kingdom - Restaurantosaurus. We did this last time and thoroughly enjoyed it! We did Hollywood & Vine in MGM on our first trip - this was also excellent, but alas it is no more  We've also done a character breakfast in Artist Point, Wilderness Lodge with Winnie the Pooh and friends. This was a more formal breakfast - waiter service and set courses. You've probably already guessed Tigger has a special place in my heart - and he was his usual mischievious self that day!!:jester:

hi tigger007
we are looking at either donald's breakfast or crystal palace, although i like the sound of donald's better:D as this will be our first day at disney(making use of jet-lag)we will only stay at the park for a few hours after breakfast then head back to our room's either for a swim or just a rest
i then thought we could head to dtd or the boardwalk for the evening for a relaxing stroll maybe dinner how does that sound any suggestions anyone:D :D
oh by the way i should say we have never been to the boardwalk:rolleyes: i never new it exsisted(how bad is that)
thanks everyone for your help and comments

eve

Hi Eve - just wondering what passes you have/will be getting since you may only be spending a couple of hours in the park?

I like Boardwalk at night-time! Very pretty! You can just stroll along the Boardwalk and watch the street entertainers and have dinner in one of the restaurants there.... Spoodles is nice or the boys would probably like the ESPN Sports Bar with a huge screen showing live sports - they serve burgers and sandwiches( US style sandwiches) etc.

hi shirley
we are staying on site so have the ultimate park hopper:D i thought of staying in the park just for a couple of hours because that will be the very next morning after we arrive and the kids might want to have a relax by the pool before taking a stroll in the evening and having dinner then having a early night ready for some action in magic kingdom(last time we went we were up at 4.30a.m)hence making the decision to do a early breakfast, does that make sense,or maybe someone will be able to suggest a different stratedgy
please any suggestions still in planning mode would love to hear what some of you experts think:D :D

thanxs eve

Not staying on site, so how do you get in to the parks for breakfast prior to park opening hours??
