My BIL and family will be traveling on our next cruise with us (7-day). They are thinking of staying in a Cat 8 room. Their family will consist of my bil, sil, dd10, and ds 7. Is this a good choice category? And if so, which rooms/area would you recommend? They want to be comfortable, but do not feel the need for a verandah.

Shelly, there really aren't any bad Cat. 8s. There aren't that many Cat. 8s and they are all located all the way forward on Decks 5, 6 and 7. You'll be fine with any of them. :)

Hi,
We have been on Deck 7 in a Category 8 on both the wonder and magic. We had cabin #s 7008 and 7512. Both cabins were quiet with no problems and convienent to almost everything. You will love the large porthole! Have a great cruise. We have a long long long wait till our March 2004 western.

I "think" a Category 8 and 9 are exactly the same except for location. Of course 9's are on Deck 2 and they may want to be on a deck closer to you and go with the 8 but there is another thread going with the advantages of of deck 2 and it may save them some $$$ if a verandah is not a issue they will still get a beautiful large picture window :) and a split bath, Have fun!!!
