Which Caribbean Island Should We Go To?

I could tell you where I would never return:

Jamaica
Mexico
St. Thomas
Martinique

I would return (I have returned) to:
Aruba
Tortola
St. John
Cayman Islands

I vote for Tortola -- stunningly beautiful and sort of "undiscovered." It's not nearly as commercial as St. Thomas, etc. We also love Barbados and St. John.

We have been wanting to go there for a few years, but I just can't seem to get a good price.

Beaches in Turks and Caicos is pricey. Not doubting that, but it is a wonderful vacation. We have taken the kids twice and hope to go back again real soon.

We have wanted to go back to St. Thomas for the longest time. We did a stop there on our honeymoon cruise and wished we had more time. The snorkeling in Christmas Cove was incredible.

We went on a Carnival cruise and did Grand Turk. The Margaritaville was fun, but that was really the extent of our visit. We didn't do any shore excursions because we did them in another port, but the island itself was amazing. I'm sure Beaches would be incredible! Heck, Beaches ANYWHERE would be nice. :)

Ok, as an actual Islander, I don't have advice on what island you should visit until you give more information. What are you looking for in this vacation? Are you looking for shopping, white sand beaches, scuba/snorkel, hiking, activities, nightlife? Make a list of what you want. My personal favorite island is Tobago because of how peaceful it is combined with the surf. My least favorite island is St. Thomas due to the fact it is a giant tourist trap for cruise ships.

My parents do an all-inclusive at Punta Cana (Dominican Republic) often - they love it!

Thank you for asking....we are looking for white sand beaches, scuba/snorkel and a little nightlife. Basically all we want to do is have a vacation that we just sit on our buts all day and do nothing...if we decide to sightsee, then we will, but basically be beach bums. Our last trips have been to WDW and even though I LOVE WDW, we are going next November and I'd like to have a trip without having to have an agenda.

Thanks everyone!

Given the ages of your children I would look into staying at the Comfort Suites next to the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas. Guests at the Comfort Suites have the privileges for using the pools/slides at Atlantis (without the expense of staying there). There's a really nice beach behind Atlantis and the resort has some really nice (but expensive) restaurants and a casino. There's lots to see/do in the Bahamas and its easy to be a lazy as you want or as busy as you want.

I would say Bahamas or St. Maarten then.

Don't know what type of "night life" they have, but Bonaire is very nice too.

Based on the info. you gave us I would vote for Aruba or Bermuda. I'm also taking safety into consideration which many islands don't have. That would be a big concern for me.

Kids & Atlantis IMO don't mix.

Based on that Punta Cana seems like the perfect choice.

Just curious of why you feel that way.

Having stayed at Atlantis 6 times, once with kids we have decided it is a great close getaway for adults.
The beaches are very narrow, water rough, people selling on the beach 100% annoying.
The activities all focus around the casino, booze & partying. Nassau is horrible as far as safety & things to do & on the concierge level at Atlantis they clearly warn you not to go past the resorts beach because of security.

Will DH & I go back most likely but solo. No nieces, nephews or extended family.
I even threw a birthday party for my Mom there....10 ladies for 5 nights we had a blast but were clear that we wouldn't be leaving the resort.
