Which rental agency is better in terms of service, cars, etc
Alamo or Budget?

For 5 days, I am getting the rates below:

Alamo = $139.97
Budget = $126.71

The $13 difference is not much to me if it means I will be getting better service and cars to choose from.

Is there another option besides the Collison Damage Waiver (CDW) if I don't have my own insurance? My credit card only covers if I have my own insurance as well.

Thanks

Have you tried getting rates from Dollar? We recently rented a minivan from them in December, and were extremely happy with the service and condition of the van.

Just a thought. I haven't rented from either company, so I cannot comment on which one is better.

Those rates are for a compact car.
I did try Dollar and I got a rate of $166.33.

Thanks

I found Mousesavers to be extremely helpful with tips and tricks on renting a car.

I booked a 5-day, Intermediate car thru National using the Vacation Outlet $15 off coupon they suggested. I also became an Emerald Isle member for free using their tips. This will allow me to go right to the lot when I land and pick from any of the cars in the designated area. No waiting in line!!! And the best part is the price.....$97 after charges/fees/taxes.

(This price is with the CDW waived, fyi)

For all rate quotes I tried mousesaver, entertainment and Magicard codes.

For National I got $154.31.

Maybe b/c I'm going in Feb ??

It looks like it is b/c of the Feb booking. I just went to national to plug in some Feb dates with the Vacation Outlet codes I had ussed and I got the same price you said. It seems they charged the weekly rate @ $149. When I booked it for Jan, they quoted a daily rate of $17.

I would check again as you get closer to the date of your trip. Maybe they start to lower their prices if it looks like they'll have excess inventory sitting on their lot. Although with the Feb school vacations, perhaps the rates will always be a bit higher. Good luck.

I'd go with Budget if I were you. Alamo is the "official" car rental of WDW and that means LONG lines. We stood in line last July for an hour. After 2 very delayed flights (while on both planes) we wanted out of there! All other car rental lines were dead. I told this to a friend of mine who went over Thanksgiving and she said I was right, National only had one other person in line and Alamo was packed!

How are the quality of cars at Budget and the service?

I know Alamo shares cars with National, and National is the recommended place for good quality cars.

Thanks

Budget's cars are just fine. The best quality cars, IMHO, at the airport are from Avis.
