Which Candlelight Processional Performance?

For those that have been to a 5pm Candlelight Processional performance, is there still a lot of daylight at that time? I'm deciding between Teppan Edo and the 5pm show or Coral Reef and the 6:45pm show. Presumably, if it's darker outside, the candlelight will look nicer. Thoughts?

I have done all 3 and now I would only do the 6:45 and final show. The 5:00 pm show would be my last choice if I could not get what I want. It does look better in the dark or at dusk. I booked 2 this year and they are both for the final show.

This will be our first CP and I had the same thoughts as you do. I originally had the 5pm time slot, but I ended up switching my dining time so that I could secure a 6:45 time slot for the same reason you listed. Also, from what I've read, the CP lasts around 45 minutes to 1 hour. So it should be over or just about over by the time we get in line for our 6:45 time slot (so we won't hear half of the 5pm show while in line).

My holdback with the 8pm time slot was that we'll be in Epcot world showcase starting around 5pm and I didn't want to hear/see bits and pieces of the CP before our actual showing. We'd have to get in line around 7pm and the 6:45pm show would've just started. So I was thinking we'd hear the whole thing while in line?

I guess this year will be our learning year and we can plan accordingly for future years.

we did the 5pm show last year. It was still light at the beginning but was dusk/almost full dark by the time it ended. (This was on 12/21) We had a FP for Frozen that started at 5:40 and we were out of the show and able to check in for that right when the time window opened. We still lined up almost an hour ahead of time (did a "lunch" at Rose and Crown around 2:30ish) and were in front of Japan, so not near the front but not too terribly far away. I picked 5pm on purpose because I wanted to be finished with it and have plenty of time to do other things in the park and not risk hearing part of the show while waiting and ruin the experience.

CP is a one and done for us. It was nice, but I didn't find the dining package to be a good value at all (especially not at Rose and Crown, but it's what the rest of my family wanted), although it was nice to have the guaranteed seating. If we ever see it again it will be standing outside of the theater.

If you want to see it in full dark, you'll want the second or third showing. I don't feel our experience was diminished by the time slot, though.

Just to add that the 2nd show will have the choir kids fresh, the third show uses the same choir kids as the second so some might be a bit tired or dropped out all together (feeling sick so they stay backstage) But I have never heard a bad choir performance, I'm sure the VoL being miked help with that
