Which cancelled event are you most bummed about?

I was really bummed about cancelling Tokyo Disneyland, and it just about ripped my heart out when I had to cancel my Good Neighbor Hotel reservation for DL California for August. Yes, Disneyland's hurting for money, but they'll get through this fine. It's the Good Neighbor hotels and small businesses surrounding it that I feel bad for.

Boston Pops Fourth of July concert and fireworks.
Boston Marathon.

The wedding of a dear friend's daughter, that was to have taken place in April. They ended up going ahead and getting married with just the two of them and the pastor. They let their parents know after-the-fact. The couple handled it better than my friend; she was heartbroken at the loss of the dream for her girl. :sad1:
Completely understandable that your friend is heartbroken. On a more positive note that I don't know would help her at all - the couple apparently felt the marriage is more important than the ceremony.

On TV: the Euros 2020 and the Summer 2020 Olympics (both moved to 2021)

In life: my parents vacation had to be cancelled because it is in a Covid - 19 hot spot. 😷 :sad1:

Halloween at Disneyland... I was considering taking the kiddo for his first ever trip.

Seeing my niece and nephew for the first time (trip to NY).

My daughter's semester abroad this summer in the UK. She was going to a town just outside of Liverpool where her great-great-grandma is from. She was looking forward to grabbing three friends and walking across Abby Road. She's had that poster on her wall since middle school. Unfortunately this was the last year she would have been able to go.

My high school senior daughter’s class trip to Disney, prom, and graduation.

Our son’s study abroad semester in London.

Both of their summer jobs. Our daughter misses the camp she works at terribly, and our son was excited to work in his field (audio) at a theater in Maine.

I guess I am most bummed about my canceled vacations. I had trips planned to Las Vegas, New York City, Disney World and a Caribbean cruise between May, 2020 and January 2021. All have been canceled. It is very hard to not have anything to look forward to.

The community July 4th fireworks show. It is 2 blocks from my house. During the week I have to be at work at 3 am so I am in bed at 7 pm and have to try and sleep through the show. When it is on a Friday or Saturday night I can watch it from my front yard. Worse yet, the neighbors had a no social distancing, no mask party with more than 10 people (10 is the limit the health department suggests) and they had a guest who shot off what appear to have been commercial fireworks from the middle of the street sending sparks showering down on everyone roof and in the 70 foot tall redwood tree next door.

The March SAT’s. My kids did get one in and have decent scores, but they met weekly with a tutor for months and did a before class SAT session at their school for a month, they rocked their practice exams, and they were canceled the day before. They needed certain scores for merit scholarships in order to go out of state.

Dd17 really missed spring track (ds17 not so much), ds17 really missed club soccer (dd17 not so much), both missed the junior formal (I missed all of the above of course).

Almost forgot ds22’s college graduation!

The Tokyo Olympics. Tentatively postponed but who knows what next year will be like. Imagine all those athletes pointing for this year.

We are supposed to be in Costa Rica right now. And cancelled WDW for September. I'm bummed about those. But the cancelled event I'm most bummed about is missing Hamilton at the Kennedy Center in August. :(

My brother was supposed to get married in April and we were all going to travel to Toronto for it. They’ve postponed indefinitely, and if they get around to it, it will be very small and scaled back.

They bought a house instead and have thrown themselves into the repairs.

The Brimfield antique fair, so far the May and July dates have been canceled. Fingers crossed they can still do the September dates, but who knows. I just bought a house and was hoping to find some neat furniture there.

And two Disney trips. Could be three if Florida doesn't get things turned around soon.

Dierks Bentley. Bought tickers for my niece and her wedding party girls for their bachelorette party which would have been this past Friday. She's getting married in two weeks. Luckily it's postponed until next July so still got the tickets for them!!

Our vacation in Europe and of all silly things Dog Shows-we have a boy who could have been the number one dog in his breed this year ☹

We were going on a DCL cruise to Northern Europe next month. We generally do a spring & fall WDW trip, had to cancel the spring trip, the fall trip remains unknown (though we're planning to go if possible.)
