For our upcoming vacation in September I have 2 nights offsite and one park day before we check-in to the GC for 5 nights. My DH is at the end of his rope with me over my obsession over choice for the offsite hotel. :rolleyes1 I have had the BW Anaheim Inn on Harbor booked for awhile now for the simple fact that I found a costco rate there for $80 plus there $4 "resort" fee.
Anyways, now I found a rate at BWPPI for $97, which I am tempted by because of favorable feedback here, and by free breakfast. So my question is which one would you choose?

We stayed at the BWPPI in May and loved the location. the room was huge too!

I thought the free breakfast was gross so we ended up just going there for the fresh oranges and apples and bought egg mccmuffins at McDonald's.

We booked thru Costco and did have to pay extra for parking our rental car.

The BWPPI has a couple of advantages.

1) So close! It's right at the crosswalk.

2) The beds at the BWPPI are queens. I am pretty sure the Anaheim Inn has double beds instead. If you are going to share beds, the extra room of a queen might be worth the extra money.

We stayed at the BWPPI and really liked it. it was close, it was clean, the staff was helpful. They've improved the breakfast (or at least added more hot items) since we stayded, too. It's not gourmet by any stretch, but even before the new items, we were able to find something to get us going in the morning.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the input. The distance seems negligible to me, but I was wondering about room quality comparison. Queens vs doubles makes a difference for sure. Does anyone know if one has been updated more recently? I guess I haven 't heard much about the BW Anaheim Inn but lots about the hotels on either side of it.

I have stayed at BWPPI and BWAI. BWAI is just about 1 to 2 minute walking difference from BWPPI (depends on where your room is where it can be right by the lobby or at the end of the property).

The rooms at BWAI are up to standards like all the BW hotels right by the DLR. The rooms are very nice and clean.

There are double bedrooms at BWPPI then just the two queen or king bedroom, but there are a limited number of double bedrooms at BWPPI. The two queen room & king bedroom at BWPPI also has a sofa bed where you can have another bed for your other party members.

The only disadvantage I have with BWPPI over BWAI is that you have to pay a $8 a night parking fee for a vehicle while BWAI parking comes along with the price of the room. BWAI doesn't have continental breakfast like BWPPI. If you don't care about breakfast and want to save money on the room, BWAI is the choice. But for continental breakfast and location to the DLR, BWPPI is the choice.

Here is what my room looked like:

Thanks for posting the pics Misskitty and thank you Mvf for the comparison. I think I am going to switch to the BWPPI for the breakfast. Even if its not great, they can 't screw up cereal, fruit and pastries, right? We 've been contemplating renting a car but now I 'm thinking it will be easier just taking a cab from LGB, and ordering groceries for the day we get to the GC since breakfast will be taken care of the first couple mornings.

:)
