I just made reservations at the Poly for May 9--18 --garden view . I have not stayed at the Poly since 83 (I was just a kid) Can someone give me some suggestion on which building is a favorite that I can possibly request? I have a 5 year old son and we are non-smokers. :) Thanks

We have usually stayed in Tokelau which is near the quiet pool. Just a short walk to the Great Ceremonial House. This time I didn't specifically request a building and was put in Tahiti. I can honestly say although it had two sinks in the room which was convenient, the room was very wet (even though it was the third floor) and had a funny smell to it. I've never experienced that before. Our vent fan in the bathroom wasn't working either which could have contributed to the dampness I guess.

We stayed at the Polynesian in December & we Loved it!

We, too, had a garden view room & we requested a balcony room in Fiji. This got us a great room! I believe that all rooms in Fiji are considered garden view, but many, like ours overlook the marina below & the volcano pool. Very short walk to the GCH and the volcano pool.

Fiji was also recently refurbished, so it would be nice & fresh for your visit.

We will definitely request this building again in the future. Hope this helps!:D

We stayed at Fiji last December and loved the location! I requested Fiji 3rd floor, and we got it. Had a beautful view of the lagoon and the wedding chapel at GF.

Fiji is a stone's throw from GCH and close to the volcano pool as well!

I was there with 3 kids, and found the central location very convenient for a family.

Have fun!

I would suggest avoiding Rarotonga, at least until it is refurbished. We stayed there in Oct. 2002, and it is pretty worn out and smelly. The elevators were out of order frequently, too. It's in a great location, though, so after it gets refurbished, it should be fine.

Based on what I saw and what I've heard, I think Tokelau would be a good building to request (in addition to what others have said above).
