Question for all you POPers out there. This will be our first time at this resort and didn't pay extra for the preferred location. I was wondering what is the best building to stay in? What location is best to see fireworks? Any input is appreciated. Thanks-

We have stayed in the 80s,70s,60s,and 50s. The 60s was the best by far (but it was a preferred room). Of the non-preferred, the 70s was our favorite. We never saw any fireworks from the resort, but from the back of the 50s we could see the top of Spaceship Earth, so it may be possible to see Epcot fireworks. The 80s was definitely not our favorite. The distance to the food court and bus stop made it inconvenient.

Both the 50's and the 60's building do have some non-preferred rooms, but not many. Part of the 70's building is also a preferred location. 50's is the best location to see fireworks. 60's buildings are directly through the back door of the lobby and dining hall. Coming out the back of the lobby or dining hall, the 50's will be to your right. 70's, 80's and 90's buildings will be to your left. I've never stayed in either the 80's or the 90's. I usually get a preferred room in the 60's because we really like the convience. The 50's section is also convient though and is usually a little quieter and has the added benefit of being able to see the fireworks. The 50's, 60's and 90's locations all have a pool.

Personally I prefer the 50s Section-we were in Building C, top floor. Loved it. We had a view of the lake and the fireworks. It wasn't a preferred room and isnt now either. Hoping to stay in the same room again!:thumbsup2

Enjoy your trip and stay at POP. :cool2:

Thanks for responding. Guess I will try and get into the 50's building then. Sounds like we'll have a great time though no matter where we stay since I've heard great things about the POP.

For our trip last fall, I requested 50's when we booked in April. When they say room requests are not guaranteed, they mean it. When we arrived, the CM said, I see you requested 50's. I got kind of excited. He then told me the resort was sold out and there was nothing centrally located. Our room ended up being in the 90's building. :guilty: This trip I am paying for preferred. If it was just DH and I that would have been one thing, but that was just too far from everything with a tired 4 and 6 year old and I don't want to chance it this trip.

Good luck, I hope they honor your request.:thumbsup2
