Ok so I am starting to second guess myself and need opinions from you guys.
I have 1900 Park Faire booked for dinner in early December but now I am wondering if I should change it. I have been looking at the menus and Boma and Chef Mickey's both look good.
Here's the situation, it will just be me and DH no kids and we don't have a care about character buffets one way or the other we just want good food. I like to try new foods and am an adventerous eater but while DH will try some new things he is less likely to try "strange new food" but will be happy as long as there is something for him to eat that tastes good.
So what do you think I should do? :confused3

I would skip Chef Mickeys. Its all about the characters. The food isn't that great. We enjoyed 1900 Park Fare over Boma last trip. I know Boma is a favorite around here, but I have to admit we were underwhelmed.

DH and I are going on Dec 1st for dinner before the MVMCP. We originally had Boma but after reading the reviews and seeing the pics of food DH was not impressed. We are eating dinner at Chef Mickeys next month so we took 1900 for Dec...easy location to MK for the party and DH is a buffet fanatic...

Chef Mickey's and 1900 PF seem nearly identical to us in terms of menu. The two best buffets on property, imho are Boma and Crystal palace.

Go to neither.
Instead go to Crystal Palace, no competition.

Simply amazing food, and Piglet, Pooh, Tigger and Eeyore are a good bonus! :thumbsup2

Actually, have you considered Cape May Cafe? We really enjoy the clam bake buffet.

I did but I don't like clams or mussels or things like that so that leaves few choices LOL.

Also I should have mentioned that we are doing Crystal Palace but for breakfast. I saw pictures of the food and couldn't resist (also helps that I love Pooh and EEyore). We will be spending the day we have 1900 PF booked for at AK so Boma would be more convienent but we can make the Grand Floridian work.

Please keep the opinions coming, majority wins (assuming I can get ADR's of course).

Id say try Boma. For breakfast I think there would be a good mix of new and unusual for you, as well as traditional stuff for DH. Otherwise Id say do Crystal Palace.

For our family the choices would be:

#1 - Boma - great food and Animal Kingdom Lodge is really interesting

#2 - 1900 Park Fare - good buffet food

#3 - Chef Mickey's - okay, but only if you're primarily interested in the characters.

Cheers,

YUP!!!!
I would go to either Boma or crystal Palace. Althought BOMA was the best!!!!
We were very impressed. Great food. Even if you are picky!!!!!

I really like Boma and Crystal Palace. Even at Boma there are foods for picky eaters, seems there's always london broil, or prime rib. One of my least favorite buffets is Chef Mickey's. The atmosphere just seems too frenetic to me.

I'd say 1900 Park Fare is the way to go. The food and Atmospere is fantastic. Also, it is in the Grand Floridian.... It made us feel Rich, going there for dinner.

Cape May cafe is over rated.... the food was very ordinary and just OK, although the desserts were great.

Crystal Palace was also great.

We are also doing the dinner at 1900 Park Fair in late November. Since you'll be there in December, you MUST visit the Grand Floridian if only to see the lovely holiday decorations! I wasn't impressed with the food at Chef Mickey's or the Contemporary in December. I enjoyed the food at Boma, but would still recommend going to the GF during holiday time.

My favorite buffet hands down is Ohana's...we went there twice last trip. It's not strange food at all and the dessert (bread pudding with icecream) is to die for!!!!!!! We enjoyed every buffet though..LTT was another great one! Have fun!

Bomma is my favorite restaurant on property- buffet or not. It definatly gets my greatest recommendation.

Y'know, they both sound great. But having eaten at Boma, I have to go with it; if for nothing more than the coconut-shrimp soup and that lamb & egg dish.
