We plan to see Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and Sea World during our vacation in Orlando next year. In addition to "Birnbaum's Walt Disney World", which guide book would you choose: "The Other Orlando" by Kelly Monaghan or "Beyond Disney" by Bob Sehlinger? I'm not a big fan of the "Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World" by Sehlinger. I had one in 1998 and although there are some great tips, I felt WDW was being bashed throughout, even though the scenarios depicted were realistic. Is "Beyond Disney" written the same way?

Go ahead and use Kelly's book for information. He's a good friend of the boards here and really knows his stuff!

I think the book that you want is "Universal Orlando The Ultimate Guide to the Ultimate Theme Park Adventure" by Kelly Monaghan.

Sehlinger's "Beyond Disney" covers Universal. My book, "The Other Orlando," does not. That's so I can include coverage of EVERYTHING besides Disney and Universal.

Hope this helps.

So I would need to purchase both your Universal Guide (which I'd very much like to do) and your Other Orlando book to read about US, IOA and SW. ;) Decisions, decisions. I think I'll own a library of guides before this trip.

Thanks Kelly.
