If you could only buy 1 guide book, would you recommend UOG or Passporter? :wave2:

My vote is with UOG. I like both but UOG has way more information and tips and tricks, its like a disney bible,

I'd completely forget the book and get Tour Guide Mike. It's much more valuable and accurate and you can print anything you need to take with you. I"ll never buya book again!!!!

I have to agree. Tour Guide Mike is a better buy. On our last trip our family group spent about $1,700 on tickets and we feel we experienced 40 to 50% more of Disney than others there by not standing in line. Darn good return on a $20 investment.

I'm not a big fan of the website, I found it a bit confusing, but his advice is dead on. I'll gladly pay for his service before every trip.

I'd vote for UOG. Not only do they give you great guidelines to maximize your time, but I really like the reader comments. They also give you a good idea of each of the attractions and how they'll appeal to the different people in your group. We've also used the restaurant reviews in deciding where to eat.

I have both books but if you can only get one then Unofficial guide. But I love passporter too becuase I'm a planning maniac.

If you're going to buy one book: The Passporter. If you're going to buy two books: The Official Guide and the Unofficial Guide. The Unofficial Guide is severely biased against (while the Official Guide is biased for) so they're a good match together.

IMO,I don't think the UOG is biased against Disney, but it is realistic in reporting the good and bad where the Mouse House is concerned. The writers and editors also have a dry wit that can sometimes be construed as sarcasm.

The Birnbaum's Official Guide is really biased toward Disney, though! :)

I also have both books, if I could only choose one it would be the UOG due to the wealth of info especially if you have 5 or less trips under your belt. I have never followed any of the tour guides in any of the books but always had an ideal of which park and what rides to do and when by the general guidelines.

Iwould choose the UOG :cheer2: . Lots of information. Paints a realistic picture so you can be pleasantly surprised when things go well rather than expecting every minute to be perfect:cool1:. Have fun planning.

You people are supposed to help me narrow down my decision, not expand them (LOL :rotfl2: )
I think I'll just subscribe to TGM and order both books! Obviously, in this DISworld, there is no such thing as too much information or too much planning. LOL!!!
I LOVE THE DIS!!!!!!

I think you have a good plan. But to answer your first question, if I was going to buy just one book it would be PassPorter every time. While they are obviously big WDW fans, they are realistic too. I find I agree with them more than any other book. It's a great tool during your trip as well.
