We are booking a BLT Studio in a few weeks for our honeymoon trip.

Before I had done my BLT research it seemed a no-brainer to me to chooe MK view.

Having read the big BLT thread I now am in two mindds whether to book MK view (would request a **18 room as I would be disappointed with **28 if I'd paid for MK view) or to get Lake-View and request the partial MK rooms.

I say this because I feel with Lake View that you always get a nice view, but the MK View rooms can be a bit parking lot/CR view ish. And I know being as specific as to saying **18 please is a big ask for the busy room allocator.

Hope that makes sense.

I am going to say MK view only because it is your honeymoon and should go all out for it. Needless to say if you arrive and do not like your view I would definately ask to be moved to a room that has a view that you love.

Thanks Christa. :)

Is that an acceptable thing to do? I don't like to be a moany guest!

I, too, think because it is your honeymoon I would request MK view high floor. We did it for our first trip in December and enjoyed it despite being further down toward the Contemporary side. We still thought it was fun seeing the castle, fireworks, and space mountain out the window, although we did have to look right out the window to see MK. We also enjoyed watching the monorail and boats on Seven Seas Lagoon. However, that being said, our next two trips we have planned to save the points and try a lake view which I anticipate we will really enjoy as well. Congratulations, I am sure you will have a wonderful honeymoon no matter which view you decide!

I booked a MK view for our Jan 2011 trip, but am now debating changing it to a LV for this reason. I didn't like the SV we had, so I don't think I'll do a SV again.

I'm looking also to see what others have to say about MK vs LV.

They are your points and you should be satisfied with the view. It is not like the DVC is cheap!

Before we were DVC members we stayed at CBR and they gave us a 2nd floor room which is fine but we had 3 kids one of which was in a stroller. CBR does not have elevators and if they thought I was going to carry a baby, a stroller and a sleeping toddler up stairs after a long day in the parks they were crazy. We called as soon as we got into our room and asked for a 1st floor room. They ended up moving us to another building, but it was definately worth it for us.

Thanks Christa. :)

That's a tough one because there are some less than perfect MK views out there, just as there are some incredible SVs and LVs out there. However, to get the best room view, your odds are the best if you pick a MK view, make your request for your desired location, and just hope for the best. Hopefully, since it's your honeymoon, you'll get sprinkled with a bit of extra pixie dust. :goodvibes Having said that, though, I don't know that I would request another room if the view is not to your liking. You win some, you lose some, you know? AND, I just can't imagine a view being *that* dire when you consider the overall vacation... But, different strokes for different folks, I guess. Either way, I hope your trip is indeed as perfect as it can possibly be. :goodvibes

Lake View, but a very specific one. If you are on the north end, outside (as opposed to the pool side), from some rooms you can see both magic kingdom and the lake. awesome! take a look at work2play's thread in DVC Planning, BLT Rooms and Views. might be very helpful to you. Congratulations and Happy Honeymoon!:goodvibes

Thanks guys. I know in my heart if I book LV I'll be regretting it in advance.

I guess what I can do is ask at check in what our room number is, and then is it is a **28 I can ask if any 18's are available as I prefer those views.

I don't ant to go up to a room and then come back down and be all "I don't like my room", I'll just enquire as to whether it's possible if that situation presents itself.

Either way we'll be able to see the castle, and the if we get a 28 we can see the GF and our wedding location so it's hardly the end of the world. :rotfl: You know what us Disney planners are like though!

We stated MK view in December and when we checked in we got a **28 view on 5th floor (or 4th - whichever the walkway is on). I went downstairs and complained and they said they couldn't do anything - nothing else available. I called DVC and talked with someone and said that it wasn't fair to pay MK points for a view that you had to lean out of the balcony and turn in order to see MK. She put me on hold and called BLT. They did give us a **18 room on the same floor. I really wanted to be up higher but nothing was available. Make sure you request a "high up floor" for any view. We wanted MK view for our first stay but won't probably get that view again. Can go to the top to see the fireworks which we loved. Make sure you try one of their flatbreads up there.

Oooh, I didn't know they did food up there! I was just planning lots of drinks!!

Off to see if I can find a menu! (I love the Jiko flatbreads so am keeping my fingers crossed!)
