Which bed setup will I get at Boardwalk or Yacht Club?

I knew I disliked BC and YC for a reason. Well, a lot of reasons but that's a biggie. Nuts. I knew the DVC rooms were like that but didn't know regular resorts were. I wonder if that's accurate? There are errors on the bed configurations on MDE. Some are shown that don't exist. Not that I remember them now

But wait, so it's 1 queen, 1 chair and 1 day bed? That's not too bad. I was thinking 1 queen and 1 chair. That's very small room.

LOL! Yes, it says 1 queen, 1 chair (yuck) and 1 day bed (not bad, IMHO). We've stayed as a party of 2 in these resorts multiple times and, thank goodness, have never been assigned one of these rooms so I have zero personal experience as to whether they exist or not. I have also gone as a solo traveler and they gave me a king room.

We have 4 in our party( 3 adults and 1 child). Thanks, I will look at those room categories.

I will say there is zero chance they will give you anything less than 2 queens. You could always request the 2 queen/day bed room as well and have a shot at getting it.

Can you give me your reasons for not liking YC and BC? Still deciding on a different resort. I have always loved being able to walk back to the MK with a child and a stroller so that is why I am looking at the 3 resorts you can walk to HS and Epcot. Now I might consider Caribbean Beach since they have a Skyliner station plus they have a fifth sleeper option room. How crowded are these stations in the morning and evening and does the line move pretty quickly? Thank you again for any advice.

I'm not the PP you asked this of, but I thought I would weigh in. We love BC/YC and BWI (like Swan/Dolphin, too!). They are SO convenient to EP and DHS. BC is my favorite of the three. It's lively and you simply can't beat the proximity to EP and now the EP IG Skyliner station. We just stayed at RIV in late December and we LOVED the Skyliner! It was so efficient! We had dinner at Topolino's one night and I really wanted to see the new EP Forever show which was starting at 9:30 pm. I got to the Skyliner station at 9:13 pm (I actually timed this to see how long it would take and if I would make it in time). I was in EP at 9:28 pm, quickly found a pretty good spot (this was during Christmas week and it was packed to the gills). Done with EP Forever at about 9:42 pm, went to the Skyliner with the mad rush of people leaving and was in a gondola in less than 10 minutes. I made it back to RIV a little after 10 pm, literally less than an hour from when I left - it was AWESOME! I would definitely put CBR on the list (it's the "hub" for the Skyliner, so you'll never need to transfer to get to EP or EHS), but I wouldn't discount BC/YC and BWI just yet!

There is NO, zero, zilch chance they put a room with 4 in a Standard King room.
They will do 3, if there's a day bed.
But Disney doesn't expect 4, even kids, to sleep in 1 bed. And they don't expect to put someone on the floor.
Everyone gets a place to lay their head. A real, official bed.

Not true. We are a family of 5 and at our last stay at beach club, were given a room without the day bed. We went back to the front desk and they were not able to move us to a room with a daybed. So it is not guaranteed. We had to sleep three in one bed (not comfy).

You didn't make enough of a fuss then. This was done in error and against policy. There is never a time 3 are supposed to share a bed. They are required to have a place for 5 to sleep. Do not allow that to happen again. You do not take no for an answer. You demand a place for everyone in your family to sleep.
Now, if one is under 3, that changes everything.

While I know well that Touring Plans has some room info wrong but they do not list 1 single room as having 1 queen, 1 chair and 1 daybed. Supposedly they were given their room configurations from Disney directly. And it was accurate as of the last time they got the room info. I have been in rooms they show as Queen only to have a King bed in that room. I don't know if they got bad info to start or if Disney moves beds around sometimes. So their not having may not mean much.

Wow, that would be such a terrible situation, I am sorry this happened to you. Hopefully your trip was good enough to overcome the inconvenience. That is one thing about the Contemporary in the garden wing, we always had 2 queens and a daybed. Just looking for a resort comparable.

Definitely do not fully trust the configurations Touring Plans has. We stayed in a BWI room in 2000 - a King room - and we loved it. Went back last December and was making a room request through TP and that particular room was noted as now having two queens. I thought the room was too small for two queens so requested a room close to it (we loved the location). Ending up getting the same room we got in 2000 and it is still a King room so if they got their information from Disney, then Disney gave them the wrong info. I find it difficult to believe that it was changed from king to two queens and back to king even if it has been 20 years. I'm not sure you could actually fit two queens into it - it's a little shorter than the other rooms nearby.

More than likely it was a King on TP when you stayed in it in 2000 too. I've stayed in several King rooms at BWI and not a one are marked as King on TP.
They stick 2 queens in the standard rooms and the standard rooms are all pretty much the same size but some are right next to Deluxe rooms and that will make the standard room look shorter than it's neighbor (because it is)

That's a bit different than not listing a room configuration at an option at all. Anyway I mostly mentioned it because I found it interesting. Not that I thought I was telling of much. As I mentioned.

That can happen to parties of 5 at the BC since not all rooms have daybeds. However, they are supposed to give you a rollaway free of charge for the 5th person. Did you ask for a rollaway and were not given one?
