Which Beach Near Orlando

Hi,

My Step-mom wants to go see the Atlantic Ocean while we are in WDW the first week of June. I think we are going on a Tuesday. Any suggestions for the best beach to go to? Cocoa Beach, Cape Canaveral, Canaveral National Seashore?

Cocoa Beach is certainly the closest and probably just about the nicest of those hereabouts (there is more choice up at Daytona, but that is about an extra 30mins drive). It is pretty easy to find (straight along the Beeline Expressway, 528) and park at, and the pier there is half decent. Ron Jon's is also a Florida institution here. Does it have to be the Atlantic, though? The beaches out on the Gulf Coast, in St Pete's Clearwater area, are much nicer IMHO, even though it is a longer drive. Check out the three websites:

I just got back Monday from a long weekend with a bunch (16) of good friends, some of my sisters in breast cancer survivorship (I'm the list mom) at Daytona Beach. I thought it was beautiful! The sand is packed but still soft, like walking on velvet. The water was warm and clean. We stayed at the Beachcomer, definitely not 4* but friendly and cheap and perfect for our purposes. We drove on the beach in a rented convertible, it was so cool! The waves weren't too big, and we watched surfers, parasurfers, parasailers, neat birds. Of course it's not spring break, but there wasn't any wild beach behavior (other than us!) they seem to be trying to be more family friendly than in years past. I'm going back in July with my family and staying at the Adam's Mark, nicer and no driving on that part of the beach.
