What attractions at the parks are good for a tired 3 yr. old who wants to nap? I don't want her to miss anything memorable. :yay:

Universe of energy at Epcot. Dark, slow, Air conditioned, and 45 minutes! we've napped here many times!

Universe of Energy does have some loud/scary scenes for a toddler.

BEST BET is Sounds Dangerous sans the headphones.

Spaceship Earth is a good one, too.

We LOVED the Hall of Presidents at MK! My son napped through two showings, and the lovely CM let us stay in our seats!

He also fell asleep in Spaceship Earth in Epcot, but woke up when the seats tilt backwards. My twin daughters fell asleep when I was walking through the countries, and I was able to view the movies in Norway, Japan (?) and go into Mexico with them still sleeping. I really liked Mexico - it was darker, and very cool - they had the AC cranking that day.

We had no nappers at Animal Kingdom or MGM, so I can't help with those parks!

at the brown derby. asked for a booth, and brought her blanket in....

Goldi

The MK train may be restful for heavy sleepers. DH falls asleep on anything...

My dd has fallen asleep in my airs in Reflections of China and also the show in the American Pavilion. Also, something about the tiki room. The Great Movie Ride was another that puts her to sleep. She has been on it like six times and only saw the Wizard of Oz once. I also agree with the Hall of Presidents and asking for booths in restaurants.

My daughter slept through the LOUD car stunt show at MGM so she's probably not the best gauge!

My husband fell asleep at the American Adventure in Epcot. The Tomorrowland Transportation Authority and the Monorail set him into a good daze too.

Either TTA or the resort bus back to your room.

Cassie fell asleep waiting with each parent while the other was riding star tours. Then we pushed her around in gift shops while she finished up her nap.
She was very very sleepy in universe of energy and even though it was slow and dark it was really really loud, so she couldnt fall asleep.

Inside the Land at Epcot might work too. Esp on the Living with the Land ride or just hanging outside soarin.

Not my idea of places to nap, but here are some from experience:

MK: It's a Small World, Hall of Pres., TTA, train around the park

EPCOT: Mexico (ride), American Adventure (stage show part), Norway ride, Universe of Energy, Spaceship Earth

MGM: Sounds Dangerous, Great Movie Ride

AK: Can't think of a thing here, sorry.

(Possibly the Muppets in MGM & Country Bear Jamboree in MK, too, if she's already had a chance to see it & enjoy it - they're nice & cool & darker)

I'm not a parent, but I've sure seen a lot of sleeping children on the TTA and in Hall of Presidents.

I might also suggest the riverboat.

How about you go hang a receiving blanket or something over the front of the stroller, and let her/him nod off while you walk around. Our kids did this to great advantage when they were small, they had little cat naps all day long. We usually shopped or went into a restaurant for a cool drink while they napped. There's lots to do that doesn't involve rides. Actually if your child has a stroller s/he probably won't tire out that easily, you on the other hand will. You might consider finding a place for yourself to nap.

Our kids have slept over on Tom Sawyer's Island (they even have rocking chairs at Aunt Polly's, but I feel guilty taking one for so long, so I usually just find a shaded spot and sit on the ground). It's really hard to get a stroller over there, but if you have an umbrella type that reclines, it's not impossible.

Next to space mountain, where the old ski lift station is, there is a nice quiet spot back in the back. The train goes buy there, but it doesn't blow it's horn. (at Aunt Polly's, the riverboat blows it's horn) The only problem with the area is that, because it's so secluded, we've had rude families use it as a smoking area a couple of times (saw my kids, along with the kids of several other families, sleeping....didn't care. Loud, coarse language, smoking, kids climbing trees).

In Epcot, I would recommend some of the back gardens in the countries. Canada has a beautiful garden as does Japan.

We've never stayed through a nap at MGM or AK. We actually usually go back to the hotel for a nap...mommy likes to nap too!

Awesome thread, i'm taking dd in jan (she'll be 21 months). Has anyone taken earplugs for toddlers? Did it work?

I'm suprised that by page 2 of the thread nobody has mentioned taking the poor kids back to the room and letting them take a nice nap in a bed.
