I am trying to put the finishing touches on my solo trip in December. I have had a reservation at BWV Dec. 16-20 on rented points for several weeks now. Soutwest just opened up their bookings for Decemebr and I couldn't get the flights I wanted. The anwer? I am FORCED  to fly in a day early. I can't change by BWV reservation, so I would like to get a room at one of the values for the night. I have already stayed at Pop, so now I would like to try one of the All Stars. It's only for one night, so I guess its not that big a deal, but I'm curious the know what you guys think. Which All Star should I choose?

UPDATE: I booked today at AS Music. I got a great AAA rate. I hope I love it! Are there any specail things at Music that I should be on lookout for? Thanks!

I suspect that most people here will suggest All Star Movies.. it's the newest built of the AllStars and has pretty fun themeing. Very "Pop-Like" in some ways.

All Star Music will probably be ranked # 2 .. most of the rooms there have recently been refurbed. They're just finishing that process now.

And All Star Sports is next on the refurb list with the work on-going during your trip time-frame, so I suspect not too many people will recommend that.

:)

Hope this helps.

Hmmm... I guess I'll cross Sports off my list!

We had to add a night because of airfare issues. I decided to book ASMu
because the whole family(11 Disney fiends) is thinking of going to WDW next summer and that's one of the choices. We're going to check it out.

AND the price was right.

Dont cross Sports off your list just yet. We have stayed there at least 3 times and Music once. IMO, Sports has a better central location to its facilities like the restaurant. It seems a bit closer in than Music to these things. It may not matter, but if want a cup o joe in the morning, that short walk isnt so bad. Music took us 10 mins to get to the front area in the morning. Sports is pretty much 5 mins tops. Ask for the football area, this will get you real close. Also, the buses stop here 1st on pickup and dropoff.

Are there any major differences in room decor between the three resorts?

You may find that Movies is hard to get. Always seems to be booked when I call. Really, you'll be fine in ANY of them. Music is my perosnla favorite as it seems to have more of an adult "feel" to it.

ASMu rooms are all newly refurbished (or will be soon). Look at pictures on Allearsnet.com. I picked Mu for my August trip because I really like the look of the rooms. I have already stayed at POP and I wanted to try something new as well.

Bumping for additional question.

Since it's for one night I'd go for ASMusic - just because the rooms are all refurbished. And from what I've read on these boards, it's a nice stroll to ASMo. Have fun!!

How did you get the AAA rate? I called yesterday and all they had was the regular rate. I wanted to book the room for 1 night on Oct 6 of this year.

We stayed at ASM in Sept. 06 and really liked it. It's the middle resort so you even though you aren't first on the buses you still usually have a good bit of room by the time it gets to you and you don't have to wait two more stops, and when it lets off, you don't have to climb over everyone to get off since they let off at ASSports first. I haven't stayed at Movies yet, but I liked the themes to Music-we stayed in the rock n roll wing and it had a cool giant juke box to go under to get to your rooms!
