We'll be driving to DLR from Phoenix via San Diego. Which airport is closest/easiest to get to from the DLR? We'll most likely be flying back to Manchester, NH on Southwest.

BTW - this'll be our very first trip to DLR after 10 trips to WDW. I have been waiting for this trip since I was 5 years old!

A lot of people suggest John Wayne Airport.Of course it all depends if Sw flys out of there?:confused3

Yeah, I believe SWA only fies out of LAX and Orange County (SNA). I'd pick SNA over LAX anyday.

I just booked my flights to SNA on Southwest. It does fly there .. but just know that there are fewer direct flights to there as opposed to LAX so the flight times are much longer. Once you land though - you are very close to the park - about a 15 minute drive.

Also - if you are booking a Shuttle or a taxi from SNA, the prices to your hotel are about half what they would be from LAX

I would choose SNA everyday over LAX. We have frequently flown non-stop from STL to SNA. Most of the time we leave between 6a and 7a and are in the rental car on our way out of the airport by 11a or 12p. Although I have never flown SW so I don't know about those flights.

John Wayne is way better, not only closer but less traffic and easier to get into and out of then LAX.

Just got a *Ding* today from Southwest - huge internet discounts right now ... figures ... one day after I made my reservations! LOL. I just re-booked and saved a bit more on my tickets.

If you are flying Southwest - make reservations online to get the discount.. but do it soon!! They fill quickly.

SWA also flies out of Ontario and Burbank.

To answer the op's question.

Fly out of the airport on the airline that is significantly cheaper then the others. This varies by where you're flying from/to and by date. So I can't post that Airport x will always give you the cheaper fare. If none are significantly cheaper, fly out of Orange county on whatever airline you want.

I never use LAX, I always fly out of Burbank, John Wayne is closer but i have never been there. Burbank is a pretty nice airport and a straight shot down the 5 about 45 minutes wihtout traffic

After flying into LAX once, we now always fly into SNA. We've done SW to/from PHX and had no issues. Hopefully you'll have luck with your flight.
