I have always been a "fly out of Pearson", "fly Canadina airline" kinda girl! LOL
This xmas we planned a last minute cruise out of Miami and the only flight out of Pearson was an American Airlines flight so we took it since we had no choice. I could not believe how crappy and old these planes were and they don't have individual tv's.....I guess I've been spoiled with Air Canada and WestJet;)
Now with these new air travel rules, I am not happy about no carry ons, and we are planning a trip to Disneyland, so that is a 5 hour flight, my child needs her DVD player, her DS, colouring, a book, 5 hours is along time for her to do almost nothing.
So now I am thinking, should we fly out of BUF to California:confused:
So here is my question for the experts here.............is there an American airline that flies out of BUF to LAX that is as nice as AC or WestJet? Newer planes and with individual tvs? I was also shocked on the American flight that I had to pay for my checked baggage, just not use to that. Are there any American airlines that you do not have to pay for checked baggage?
TIA:)

We either fly out of Buffalo, Rochester, Detroit or Pittsburgh (almost identical to going to Detroit since we live in Oakville). Never fly out of Pearson with family of 5 since fares are ridiculous.

If you look on the BUF website it lists all their carriers & then you can do your research from there with who you want to fly with. We haven't flown out of Pearson in years. I avoid it at all costs.

Southwest and JetBlue both fly out of BUffalo. Southwest is the least expensive and JetBlue is a little bit more but the extras I think are nice and we always fly with them. Good luck!

Hi there, although I am quite fond of Westjet, Air Canada has not been my first choice of carrier ever since my mother was stranded in Vancouver for 10 hours before being put in a hotel and the reason was for a broken toilet on the plane (ie not weather related).
We have been flying from Buffalo to Orlando and New York for quite a few years now and the OP is right, Southwest is cheaper and Jetblue is in most case more but more comfortable.
I will be going to California with my 10 year old in August and will be booking with Southwest. My suggestion is go fly from BUF to SNA (Orange County) not LAX because the distance from SNA to Anaheim is much shorter therefore the shuttle to the hotel will be cheaper. Also, LAX is like Pearson whereas SNA is much smaller.
Southwest allows 2 pieces of luggage for free and Jetblue allows for one. However, to go to California, Southwest is much cheaper, the connection time much shorter, since neither of them offer direct flights.

Jetblue:thumbsup2. One free bag and TV's in the seat. Also being able to reserve your seat is a good thing.

Thank you very much for that info, I was only looking at LAX. I noticed there is no direct flights from BUF....I really dislike connecting flights!
