Planning our first trip in Sept and have preferred viewings for illuminations on the 9th of Sept (at 9pm) originally the only ADR I could get for Epcot for Dinner was Garden Grill at 4.10 and having been trying to get a later one for a while.
Went on today and managed to get a 6.50 ADR for Le Cellier now I'm stuck as which one to keep.
We are going with three small children and have nearly every character meal in the park booked for some point so not needing another one but worried how much they'd appreciate Le Cellier (do have another for Garden Grill the following Friday which i booked by mistake). Also as we are only on the standard dining plan we do have the extra credit needed for le Cellier.
Anyone have any thought as to which would be best.

Normally I would not pick Le Cellier over other restaurants...but because you already have Garden Grill the next week, and because you said you have ever other character meal booked at disney, i would suggest keeping le cellier only cause its different. You need a break from character meals sometimes. I think your kids will be fine at that place...there will be plenty of other kids, so dont worry about that.

Don't know how much help I will be because I enjoy both of them. Garden Grill has good food - my kids even liked the brussel sprouts! We ate at Le Cellier for lunch on our last trip and thought everything was delicious. I would pick whatever time is more convienent for you and decide if you can spare the extra dining credit. If you can, then I would probably treat yourself - your kids will find something they like. They even have a steak on the kid's menu. DH and I are arriving that day for a long weekend. Can't wait. It's getting so close!:thumbsup2

For me choosing between Le Cellier and Garden Grill is like choosing between a root canal or pulling the tooth; neither one is pleasant (though many love LC). Having said that though I am not a fan of LC, I will call it the root canal and go with it over Garden Grill. :lmao: As you mentioned, you have plenty of character meals booked. Getting a break from character overload and average at best buffet food should be a refresher for you.

Thanks for the help, think I will confirm what Dh wants tonight and then cancel the garden grill, although do think he will prefer the sound of nice steak house over chip and dale anyway. We can always just use the other garden grill reservation the following week and be in the park for the EMH that week as well.

We loved both! I would choose Garden Grill but as you already have it then I would probably sway to Le Cellier.

Also Garden Grill isn't just Chip 'N' Dale but Pluto and Mickey and the whole restaurant revolves! Love it!

I am going to pick Garden Grill because I'm not sure the LeCellier will leave you enough time (plus I don't think it's worth 2 credits). I have had to wait up to 45 minutes for a table there (with a ressie) so that would mean sitting around 7:30pm. THen leaving an hour to eat that would be 8:30pm and not sure how close the preferred seating is??? I wouldn't want to rush. With kids, I think the atmosphere at Garden Grill is great. Plus, I love early dinner time with the kids. They can eat a snack while waiting for Illuminations. :thumbsup2

LOL that's what I thought when I read the title. These are 2 of the 3 restaurants I will never go back to :lmao: :rotfl:

If I had to choose one... I guess I would say LC. You couldn't pay me to eat at Garden Grill again even if I was starving.

I'd pick LeCellier.

It is at a much better time & the food is awesome! Last time I got the choc. moose for dessert...it was so cute & delicious too. I always get the cheese soup & the steak & I love the place.

I've never eaten at Garden Grill.

If you have it another time I would for sure eat at LeCellier instead. Part of Garden Grill is open to the noisy & busy lobby that all the masses pass by going to Soaring & Living on the Land. LeCellier is located in a quiet restaurant & I love the place.
