Which ADR should I keep?

So, we will arrive late May 10th, and we will spend the whole day on May 11th at MK.

I have 2 dinner reservations for the Crystal Palace, one at 3:40 pm and one at 8:25 pm (I was searching for a later one for a couple of weeks, and got it yesterday). I didn't really want it this late. But I don't like how the 3:40 is kind of in the middle of the day. I would've loved a 6 PM one.

But, since I have to decide now. Which ADR should I keep? I have a 5 year old, and a 7 months old. We are planning to be at the MK super early. I'm worried that by 8:30, the kids will be too tired.. but I'm also worried that the 3:40 is too early. How far is the CP from the park's attractions?

I know that this decision depends on many factors, but this is more of a WWYD, since many of you are disney veterans! ;)

I wish Disney's website had a better map.. I can't wait to get my Disney's world 2011 book in the mail tomorrow.

Crystal Palace is about half way between the catle and the entrance to the park on main street. I wouldn't take the 8:30 unless you have an afternoon nap. Your 5 yo might not enjoy it as much is she/he is tired. Buffet take about an nour if you want to see every character which mean you would be there until 9:30 or even later if you are seated late.

If you are doing rope drop that morning and have breakfast before going, the 3:40 is not a bad time.

I agree about the 8:40 being too late if you are going to be at the park all day. If you are staying on property and easily able to go back to the resort in the afternoon for a break then I would do the 8:25. But if not then I would do the 3:40.

keep in mind that you can't take your stroller in so your 7 month old will have to either sit up in the highchair or sit on mom or dad. They do have infant high chairs at Crystal palace but I don't know if the 7 month old would sit in that or not. If so he/she could actually sleep in it as its slightly reclined.

Our DD at 5 did great at later dinners but we always take an afternoon break.

Thanks for the info, this was what I was thinking.

And I never thought of it this way, that we will not be done until 9:30, then maybe not get back to resort until 10:30, way too late!!

We have reservations at BBB the next day, so DD needs her beauty sleep! :lmao:

Ohh good point about the stroller, DD7 months will definetly be cranky by 8:30 and will not be happy to have to sit in a high chair!

We are staying at ASM. But I'm thinking of having DD5 have her nap in the stroller, while I wear the baby.
