So we are a family of 4 staying for 5 nights on free dining plan. If I have my math correct, that means 5 QS, 5 TS, 5 snacks per day per person. So the total for our plan would be 25 of each. Upon making my adr's, I realize I am WAY over for the amount of TS covered. While I could possibly pay oop for one meal, I'm going to have to do the hard thing and make a change (or 2). Here's my list of reservations, let me know which you'd say adios to. Thanks.

Be Our Guest dinner (1 credit) - first time
Whispering Canyon Cafe dinner (1 credit) - done before
O'hana dinner (1 credit) - first time
Cinderella's Royal Table lunch (2 credits) - first time, mainly for experience, is it worth it?
Raglan Rd dinner (1 credit) - first time
Yak & Yeti lunch (1 credit) - first time
Boathouse OR Le Cellier dinner (2 credits at either) - first time at either one, would be anniversary dinner

I feel lucky for all the ones I was able to get, so its hard to let any of them go. If you had to make the hard choices, which would be certain to keep and which do you feel comfortable letting go?
If it matters, my kids are 12 & 10. Thanks again.

How are they spread out? Two table services in one day takes up time, we like to stick to one per day. But you also know what you want to do in the parks.

The BOG dinner, Whispering Canyon and Ohana are all one per day the first 3 days. We're eating QS for lunch those days in the park we'll be in.
CRT is a lunch on the same day we're doing Raglan Rd for dinner. But I think well spaced out so we won't be too full.
And Yak&Yeti is an early lunch, the same day we'll be doing either Boathouse or LeCellier.

Maybe a different question would be, if not to cancel the reservations completely, which one(s) would be better to pay oop for?

CRT is fantastic. Others might disagree but we loved it and we had a great lunch with great character interaction. I'd drop Whispering Canyon Cafe. We ate there in June and the food was ok but the service was not what we expected. We wanted to play along but most servers were not participating and seemed kind of annoyed with everyone.

CRT was a last minute add for us because I really didn't think I'd be able to get it. Now that we have, my kids are really excited to be able to eat IN the castle, so I'd hate to drop it. Just wanted to make sure it was worth it. I'm fine with doing it once and not again just to say we've experienced it. How was the character interaction there?

Based on this, I would dump Yak and Yeti for sure. Just get CS at AK.

The other one I would dump would be Whispering Canyon. I adore the Wilderness Lodge. It's just stunning, but I repeatedly see bad reviews for Whispering Canyon these days. It's not special enough to pay for out of pocket. I would do CS for that dinner, depending on what your schedule is for that day.

Did no one read the first 3 sentences of this post?

No, OP, your math is not correct.

First, you didn't specify which dining plan you're on, but I'm assuming the standard Disney Dining Plan, and not the Quick Service Plan.

If you're on the standard Disney Dining Plan, you get 1 QS, 1 TS, and 1 snack per day per person. The total for the plan would be 20 of each (5 nights X 4 people), not 25.

Nah. I try not to do math on the weekends. ;)

Regardless, I find one TS per day to be enough at Disney. Any days where you've got 2 meals at table service places booked, I would re-think. We tend to like to leave lunch open so we can play things by ear. We book TS mostly for dinner, maybe a breakfast here and there.

Also, any time you book a 2 TS place, that will mean you'll have another day where you'll have to forego TS or pay OOP. There are several CS places that we really like, so eating CS is no big deal for us. We wouldn't miss Columbia Harbor House, Sunshine Seasons, the Boulangerie or Tangierine Cafe in Epcot. Wolfgang Puck's in DTD is really good too.

As for CRT, if you've never done it, I think it would be worth it to forego TS on another day to make room for CRT. The food is not going to set the world on fire, but the setting and experience are one of a kind.

From a cost perspective, generally it's cheaper to pay OOP for meals that cost two TS credit. I didnt say always. :-) do the math.

I agree with this one, drop Yak and Yeti and Whispering Canyon

The characters were fantastic! We went to akershus this summer and were so disappointed after being at CRT. We are hoping to visit CRT again this year, finances permitting.

Why would you make so many ADR's and possibly rob someone else of an ADR they really wanted?

I did not. If you read my post, I said I wanted to make A change. So at the most, I would be canceling one OR just paying oop.
Glad everyone is not as rude as you. Do people seriously not have anything better to do than go in search of posts to complain on?

If your 'Ohana is for Oct 4th at 5:00pm, by all means cancel. ;) Totally kidding. But to answer your question, I would ditch WCC and Yak&Yeti. Definitely not as good as I wanted them to be.

Yak and yeti would be the first thing to go for me. I really did not like my meal there last time. I much preferred the food at Tusker House. Keep Be our Guest, the restaurant is beautiful and you have to experience it at least once. WE loved our dinner at CRT and was totally worth 2 credits to eat in the castle, plus the food was really good. We love Ohana' but have had to wait a really long time before being seated but was all worth it especially after tasting the Lapu Lapu's and the banana foster bread pudding Mmmmm! I have never been to WCC so can't comment. I would keep RR for your DTD night and would do Le Cellier for special dinner the other night. Very romantic and very good food. Plus you are in Epcot so Illuminations afterwards, yes sir!
