Editing to say that I made my final decision. Thank you for your opinions, but since the odds are probably not in my favor for an early check in on Dec 1, I'll just go for convenience. We'll be at the WL already, so I chose to book the 1BR at WLV.

:thanks: BOBBIWOZ, DEB & BILL, and SHAROND150! Your opinions are appreciated! :)

****Original Post:

I'm not a DVC member, but I think I want to book a room-only stay in 1BR on the Saturday night before our cruise in order to catch up on laundry. :laundy: Prior to this, we'll be staying at the WL in a courtyard room for 6 nights. My choices through Disney reservations are a 1BR at either WLV, OKW or SSR. I would prefer to choose the resort where I'll have the best chance of snagging an early check in (so I can get right on top of that laundry :lmao: ). I know early check in is never guaranteed. Which do you think I should choose for the best odds?

:thanks:

We have had the best luck regarding early check ins at OKW, including having a 9:30AM 1 bedroom ready! That would be my choce.

I don't think any of them will be really good for Dec 1 since all the DVC's have no vacancy on points for that time. If it were during any other time, OKW might be good since most members check out on Friday and check in on Sunday. But you are going at a very busy time, so your villa may not be ready until after 4PM on that Sat.

I'd say for what you are going to pay in points for a Saturday, I'd do the laundry at the coin-op washer/dryers at each resort and save the money for the cruise. Also.....there are been many many threads here about people not being able to check in early. I believe what used to be advertised as 4PM check-in is now called Check-in: AFTER 4 PM.

Thanks, but I'm a convenience gal. I like the idea of being in my own room doing laundry vs. guarding the washers/dryers in a laundry facility. For one night, I'm choosing comfort over cost. :) (I'm not a member, so it's cash, not points.) I'm not going to cry if I can't get my laundry started early -- it would be nice, but it's not a deal breaker. Just wanting to know my odds, that's all.

YOu have a better chance of getting a reservation and getting in early by paying cash since they keep a seperate inventory for cash customers since they make so much more money off of them.
Enjoy your cruise! We've done Disney cruises the last two Christmas seasons and they were wonderful!

They keep a separate inventory of points vs cash reservations, but once the reservation has been made, they are pretty much equal.
