Day 6 Tuesday 17th July ‘07

Me – Disney fanatic - I stomped through Disneyland Paris in 1994, since why come to a theme park when you’re in Paris, yes really! Favourite PM
Diane (DP) – Long suffering Disney widow, buts loves it all anyway. Favourite BTM
Morgan (DD9) – 9 year old Disney fan. Favourites now RnR, BTM, Pirates of the Caribbean
Jack (DS) – 7 year old Disney, Star Wars fan. Favourites now BTM and Star Tours Autopia
Robyn (DD5) – 5 year old Disney fan. Loves parades and Casey Jr
Tom - TomTom sat nav that will get a full workout this trip, but day off today

Alarm goes off at 7am and I rise for a shower and then collect breakfast.
Our plan was for an early start and EMH… but the troops are still sound and showing no signs of coming to life soon.
So as we have plenty of days left decide that their humour will be all the better with some more sleep.
I wander round the ranch for a bit and everyone is up by 8.50am.
DS enjoys Salon Mickey so suggests that we leave breakfast here and head over to the peace and sanctuary. Well for him it is the lovely butter croissant, which I’m sure is the same as the one we get at DCR :rolleyes
DS thinks there should be a trumpet fanfare when you exit SM into the park.

Making our way through baggage check we see that the parks will be busy again.
Not to worry thought. With a secret knock on Salon Mickey’s door we enter its inner sanctum. No one else is here so we quickly grab the centre table and a plate of goodies, fresh orange juice and water.

Suitably refreshed and a quick inspection of the facilities we head off to buggy rental. Thankful that we have retained our family name card as I can skip straight to the distribution and flash… of err.. my Dream AP 

I head to BTM and grab fast passes and then join them at La Confiserie des Trois Fées I’ve never seen Flora, Fauna and Merryweather so video this little entertainment.

With a little bit of shopping under DPs belt she is raring to go. So we are off to the Christmas shop at the castle. Although it is a squeeze in here, it is a shop we all enjoy.
DP has a bit of a struggle finding something she likes with the year on it to add to the Christmas tree decoration collection.

Then it is soon time for the BTM FP window. DP, DS and DD9 head there while DD5 and I head to Aladdin’s passage. Every time we think about going here I think it is naff, yet come out every time saying it is very good. DD decides that we should do it again with her acting as guide while I video it for the others 

We meet the others as arranged in Giraffe shop. Though since I’m holding the APs and they think the ride photo is worth having, we all have to head back over to BTM.

I meant to say that I grabbed FPs for Peter Pan. Our return window is 4.35pm. On past trips the FP window would have been at the end of the day or finished. So there are some advantages to the new approach, but we definitely find it harder to make this work for us.

As it is now lunch-time we head to Cowboy Cookout. Burgers, chicken meal and fries comes to €22.75/£17.32.

While we are eating Jessie and Woody arrive and are soon surrounded by an army of children and adults.
The troops head for Jessie as she has the smallest crowd. After getting photo and autograph books signed we go back to the table to finish lunch.
Note to self – get one autograph book for them to share and spend more time getting photographs ;)
Jessie and Woody were here for a good 40 minutes so the troops try to get Woody after lunch. But just as they were about to get their autographs sign the CM minder directs Woody, followed by Jessie to two disabled children. Some in the crowd don’t react well to this  But we were quietly proud when our lot said that perhaps these children had suffered a lot in their lives and the look of wonder and their smiles meant that this was a good thing that Woody did :goodvibes

Next off we make our way over to the studios.
DD gets to take mum on to RnR this time :yikes We go over to the exit looking for the talking bin on the way… but not today.
We watch for the others coming off while DS and DD dance on the strobe light patterns on the floor.
I sneak a photo of their ride photo and DP declares she never saw anything thing.

While DD hooped and hollered, DP held her breath so no expletives were released ;)
Just as we come out of RnR High School Musical is about to begin, but as others have reported the organisation arrangements definitely need improving :confused.
Once HSM is in place it is much better

After this we head to the shops in WDS. Whilst there is basically one long shop along Studio 1 and another in the Frontlot we spend quite a bit of time here.
The troops do quite a bit of pin trading and we head back through the village on our way home to the ranch.
After a supper of pasta we go into the general area of DCR. Tonight the CM’s are circus clowns. We have quite a good night letting the kids make some new friends while we relax 

I guess the downfall of being the chief photographer for the group means that you never get to be in any of the photos?

Glad you agreed to a later start, everyone needs some downtime every now and then (too bad you couldn't sleep in a bit yourself).

Sounds like your family handled Wood's departure quite well, good for you!

You mention pin trading quite often. Do your kids like collecting a certain character? Or do they just enjoy the interaction of the trade?

thanks for sharing, i like the little clip of the fairies, where exactly was that place please?!

I do my best ;) Shuddered at the thought of Disney photographers and me being the other side of the camera.

They really just like the interaction. In fact I've seen them trade LE for next to nothing and then trade one just received with the very next CM :confused3

The beanstalk from Fun and Fancy Free is outside the shop. To the right in Fantasyland as you come out from the castle :)

I'll admit i'm a reading these out of order but hey! A great day with lovely photos, your children look like they are enjoying themselves.

Can I ask what is the Cookout for food? I have never eaten here but would like to.

I must also try Salon Mickey too, I have been a member of the shareholder for 7 years but have never visited it:eek:

Love the video of the fairies... :goodvibes

Bob xoxox

Another fantastic day - the extended stay really makes it feel a relaxing holiday instead on a manic 3 or 4 days :goodvibes

You can see the fairies in the fireplace of the sweetshop - Confiserie des trois fees - in Fantasyland near the castle

Shame on them

What sensitive, caring kids ~ you and Diane are right to feel proud. :thumbsup2
