Sorry late with posting this. Imagestation down so I'll add photos later and Morgan decided to have a fight with monkey bars and the ground. She lost :headache: . Broken wrist and chipped elbow means she has plastered arm. Thankfully it is at the end of the holiday and not her left arm, so she will be fine for going to school in 1 week :) She is looking forward to her chums signing the cast :rolleyes1

Day 3 Saturday 14th July ‘07

Me – Disney fanatic - I stomped through Disneyland Paris in 1994, since why come to a theme park when you’re in Paris, yes really! Favourite PM
Diane (DP) – Long suffering Disney widow, buts loves it all anyway. Favourite BTM
Morgan (DD9) – 9 year old Disney fan. Favourites now RnR, BTM, Pirates of the Caribbean
Jack (DS) – 7 year old Disney, Star Wars fan. Favourites now BTM and Star Tours Autopia
Robyn (DD5) – 5 year old Disney fan. Loves parades and Casey Jr
Tom - TomTom sat nav that will get a full workout this trip, but day off today

After the cut and thrust of yesterday our thought today is that Studios will be quieter than Disneyland Park as after all this is Saturday.

Up at 07.30hrs and scooters and me head off for breakfast. There is just no way we’ll eat all of this and half the croissants are saved for lunch-time.
Head off to the Studios with the weather being noted at 34°C.
First stop is RnR; well the troops have not stopped talking about being tall enough to ride this. We had post-it notes on the living room door recording the heights of everyone against the height restrictions for rides.

Off load everything in my backpack, including glasses.
So DD9 and I head for their first RnR ride. Wow
I had read quite a lot about this ride and you get a sense of what to expect as you can see the launch in the pre-loading area. But it is still something else.
I did enjoy it although my heart was in my month. Thrill seeker DD screamed and hollered with delight throughout this ride. We end up in the front seats so have a perfect view. I sang the song on the way round but by the end of the ride couldn’t remember it :confused We of course have to buy the ride photo. €15 reduced to €12 with Dream AP.

When we come out we see the talking bin and I manage to spot the CM, but keep that information to myself.

Next stop is Studio Tram Tour, as Robyn loves this. Everyone enjoys Catastrophe Canyon and Rein of Fire. The troops ask a lot more questions this ride as they have become quite film buffs and wonder how many of the films they have seen that is on this attraction.

BTW you get some excellent views of ToT on the way to the Tram Tours ride.

Sadly Cars and Crush have waits of 60 and 90 mins respectively.
Have to agree with others Crush is definitely FP material and we’ll have to plan a strategy to get on this ride. more later.

Fast pass were in operation for Magic Carpet ride, which gives an indication of how busy the Studios were. On this occasion there was no queue so we jump on board.

We spot Remy at the photo point so the gang head here and queue. There is little shade here apart from at the photographer so I end up going backwards and forward with water for everyone.

Now I mentioned my cheap pack-back purchase. Well this paid for itself in spades. As well as not handing everything to Diane to load in her bag, I loaded up pin-trading, snacks and 1 ½ ltr bottle of water every trip to the park. On a couple of occasions we brought another bottle in as well.

Sully always had enormous lines and as we knew he didn’t sign autograph books never braved this. They did however enjoy the scream machines. Morgan manages to get the indicator to the top. We are so glad of this achievement :rolleyes

Next up we queue for Remy’s pal. We subsequently discover he is called Emile.
The troops queue up for quite a while and yes you’ve guessed it, within 1 person Emile has to go for a break. He’ll be back in 2 minutes gestures the CM.
Of course it is Remy that comes out so troops huff a little and leave the queue.

Anyway, time for lunch so we head out of the park, remembering to remove our name car from the stroller as we hand it back at the rental counter.
We stroll up through the village, laughing as Robyn sings “The Simpson’s…” She does this most days when we pass here.
From HNY we are back to the ranch in 15 minutes.
The troops play outside while we put together cold meat, cheeses, olives, baget and croissant lunch.
Load the dishes into the dishwasher and head back to the Studios. Now it is obvious that the park is much quieter. We guess that day visitors have headed over to Disneyland Park. So we head straight for Crush.. 75 minutes posted so that’s ignored, but Cars only has 15 mins wait so on we go.
Well I know some wanted a more intense ride but we think this is great. The ride theming and queue area has been well done.
We are soon at the gate waiting our turn.
The cars appear to spin very fast although it is much like the teacups with a bit more thrills. Kids will love the fact that cars appear to be crashing into each other with a fraction of a second for a near miss to be avoided.

The Studios have really come of age. DP has always enjoyed this park while I have been less than complementary. My opinion definitely changed over this trip, although there are areas for improvement.

Given DD9’s and my review of RnR Diane and DS head off to try this. Sadly Jack misses the height restriction by 1cm, he is gutted. We decide it would not be fair for DD9 to go back on at this point. You can imagine the pleading that went on. But she was assured that there would definitely be an opportunity later on.

Next up we head to Armageddon. This has never appealed and the comments about kids leaving here distraught has always made us shy away from this ride. DD9, DS and myself head on to it for another family first
The pre-show is a bit cumbersome with interaction between (star of Armageddon) and CM. Surprisingly the CM says French is the most popular language so will use that for the rest of the introduction :rolleyes

The ride itself is actually quite enjoyable. DS enjoys it much more than DD. The fire and effects are quite well done and neither DS nor DD found it too scary. Although DD later announces that she would not be that upset to not go back on it.

When we come out High School Musical is just about to start. DP and DD5 are already taking up position beside ToT panels so we join them. DS and DD9 join in while DD5 takes and unusal shy fit and doesn't join in.

They all love the film and the music so are pleased to see this. At the end it is funny watching the CMs trying to stop everyone grabing the streamers.

We head back to the Ranch and I take the troops to the pool as DP has a reaction to chlorine. As is know by others this is without doubt the best pool on property.
DD9 is an accomplished swimmer and her reward for sticking in at swimming lessons is that she can swim herself for some of the time and go down the slide. I stay with DD5 and DS. DS has great fun on the current stream. Unfortunately, however DD5 panics and will not let go of my neck for a large part of the time. In hindsight it is not her fault as she is on a waiting list for lessons and has not been to the pool as much as the others.
This restricts my ability to interact with DS and DD9 and trying to manage on my own given DD5’s fear means this will be our only visit. We did think about going back to the pool in two shifts but end up leaving it to late and we are concerned about travelling home with damp towels.
Mind you thinking about it now we could have hired the towels €2/person.

The rest of the evening is relaxing, have our supper. We decide to walk down to the Trading Post about 20.30hrs.
There was an Indian show on in the evening although with an earlier outdoor bbq.
The troops ask if they can watch this while we shop. I pop out to see the kids interacting with the CMs. They have an excellent time and sadly we have left camera and video camera at the cabin. I attempt to capture some photos on my phone, in spite of the fact that I’ve always laughed when I have seen others do this.

Later on Pocahontas and Meeko are out for photographs and autographs. Kids are not impressed that autograph books are also at cabin :rolleyes

At the end all the children line up to get their faces painted by the Indians. It is really great although I imagine most parents had a similar challenge that we did that it would need to be washed off before bed-time.

We vowed to come back to this next Saturday and everyone went to their beds tired and happy. Our usual routine of DS, trip report, txt home and a refreshment before we fell into bed around 23.00hrs.
