We love this movie. Our favorite part is when they're driving on the wrong side of the interstate and the couple tries to tell them by yelling, "YOU'RE GOING THE WROOONG WAAAY!!!" And they say, "How do they know where we're going?"

It's our TG tradition - has been for at least 15 years.

Have you ever seen the broadcast version of that scene? It's on the DVD and it's surreal. There is so much swearing they couldn't possibly bleep it, so they actually shot an entire alternate scene with a different word in there just so they could insert that when they show it on tv or on an airplane!

And I swear, somebody tailed my dad and watched his road trip driving for that scene with John Candy jamming to that song. That is EXACTLY how he drives!

Isn't it scary how fast things change, too? The entire premise of the film would be blown had that been made just 10 years later. A simple cell phone would've gotten them out of the entire mess!

I love the rental car scene too.
I like it for the same reason I like Clark Griswold's rant ending in "Wheres the tylenol!" in Christmas Vacation.
