Hmm... is it possible the delay in a Wall-E appearance be because they are working on a Wall-E thing-E that is just so awesome they need this long to develop/perfect said Wall-E?

In the 2008 Unofficial Guide there was a blurb about the possibility of an interactive Wall-E picking up trash in the parks....maybe it wasn't meant for a US park...or perhaps it wasn't meant to be at all....

I really thought there would be something cool with the DVD release. It is such a shame the hype is only around the original release. Robinsons, Ratatoullie (sp?), Wall-E. We'd love to see these characters too.

for the record, just like mickey, wall*e is real. and he's been around for a long time, he just never appeared at WDW. he was expected to, but i guess he loves the west coast too much.

if you go to youtube, you should be able to find videos of him roaming the streets of LA.

The backdrop is gone, unfortunately. It is now a backdrop for Bolt (and the Bolt characters).

I wouldn't expect it, because his backdrop is gone and the Bolt characters are meeting at Animation now. It's a shame. He looked really cool.
