Looks like we're going to have to move our Concierge cruise (AGAIN) to a phony booking since we're looking to book for Feb 2023 and those won't be out before final payment is due. I wanted to move it as far out as possible. Looks like all ships have sailings for Nov-Dec 2022 except the Wonder. Curious as to why?

Probably because, they're not sure what they're doing with the Wonder yet. She's just now returning to the west coast, but it's unsure if they're going to have to do test cruises before beginning regular cruising or what....

Is the Wonder the odd ship out that is going to find new routes to travel instead of moving to the Caribbean?

I'm not understanding your response. That's 14-15 months away, not 2021. Wonder cruises are showing for Sept. 2021-Oct. 2022. All the rest have cruises through Dec. 2022.

There is at least one theory posited that the Wonder may end up stationed on the left coast permanently next year. Personally, I don't think so but it does seems so weird they incurred yet another deadhead change just last week just to sail out of SD for six weeks then head back on the EBPC. Who knows - maybe this is some vestige of the CSO limit on number of days. Just based on what you do see with scheduling, I do think there is some general resistance to sailings of any real length and this lack of decisiveness could be an outcome of that.

Sorry, didn't register on the 2022 date. But I still think they just don't have those itineraries decided on yet.

I have no inside information but just guessing. If they were just planning to do more Mexican Cruises from SD, they would have just announced that. Which makes me think that either:
1) they do not have a confirmed plan
2) they are planning something Unique or new DCL and want to do a special announcement for it. Hawaii cruise, South American cruise or Australia/Asia cruises.

I have such mixed feelings about all this. On the one hand, I would LOVE to have more west coast cruise options. On the other hand, the Panama canal cruise is on my bucket list and I'd be very sad to see it go. I'm intrigued though by the possibility mentioned above of them doing new itineraries, not just Mexico and Alaska.

If their going to do more Mexico, Hawaii or Asia cruises from the West coast it would be nice if they added the aquaduck as it's the only boat without. The argument that it wouldn't be used much in Alaska is the normal excuse for not having it.

The Magic has the Aqua Dunk, not Aqua Duck. I think the Aqua Duck might be too big for the Wonder. The Aqua Dunk isn't super popular because it's a bit scary, being a drop-down box slide.

The issue I always heard was that in order to add a ride they would need to add a ducktail and that would make the ship too big for the canal.

Sorry I can't keep my ducks straight! ;) It doesn't have to be exactly what's on magic but I think it's the one thing the wonder lacks

When the new Panama Locks opened, the length of the new locks allowed them to go ahead and add the ducktail to the Wonder, so if that was the obstacle to adding an AquaDunk, she's good to go now. I'd love it.

On another note (or the same note really): I can't stop singing the DuckTales Theme now... and I'm good with that.

Thank you SO much for getting that little earworm started in my head . . .

Whoops. Sorry about that. It's the only thing that has finally gotten Genius of Love and/or Sweet Fantasy out of my head in days...

If they are adding something to the wonder make it a solarium for Alaska. Other ships have it and it's a draw as we look towards an Alaska cruise. Same with a viewing deck that is indoors as well as outdoors.

Is it crazy to think they might just leave the Wonder here starting this fall? I think this may be the reason they may have brought it over even though they only have a limited amount of cruises scheduled before the Eastbound Panama cruise. I know this means that they would have to cancel and reschedule a lot of cruises that are already booked on the Wonder and that might be crazy but we are living in a crazy world.
