Where's the BEST/WORST pizza in Disney?

The only decent pizza in WDW, IMO, is at Wolfgang Puck Express in Marketplace.

all those other "pre-fab" pizzas are overpriced frozen pizzas IMO.

I got pizza at Rainforest Cafe (DTD location). It tasted pretty good, but there were large chunks of onions on the sauce and I don't do onions. I seem to remember it being gooey.

Wow! Thanks for all the pizza reports ... the more opinions the better! Keep them coming! Maybe I should have made this a poll.

come to think of it, we're always just having so much fun and love being at WDW, that everything always tastes good!

I think the term "pizza" is loosly defined as each area we come from will have a different view on what is considered to be pizza and not just dough with sauce and cheese. Also, how good the food is will also be in part dictated by how hungry the troops are. Maybe the real trick is to starve the family and then pass off a bit of cardboard with red crayon on top as food :teeth:

When I worked at Papa's the slice and whole pizza's were exactly the same.

When was that? I'd say for the past 5 years they seem different to me. Even the size of the thing.

It used to be that when you ordered 3 two-slice meals Papa G's would just give you the whole pizza, a normal pizza was cut into 8 parts, whereas the meal slices came from one sliced into 6 parts (a trick I learned from my mom to save $) I think management realized many customers had caught on and changed that as of several years back now.

The pre-sliced pizza is also held in a warmer for a bit verses a whole pizza, which is served to you direct from the oven. Yes, the twice warmed over pizza definatly has more of a flavor to it, but I think it may be because I'm not burning the roof of my mouth on the thing :teeth:

A few trips back we seemed to be trying pizza alot that week. After a bit it all tasted the same, and only OK at best. Nothing to write home about that's for sure! Now I pretty much stear clear of all things pizza at WDW. The kids think it's good though. I'll second the poster that said the breadsticks at the Mara are good. THEY ARE! YUM!

My family could live on Pizza if I let them, however they are picky pizza people - prefering Papa Ginos (a NE thing) over most anything else.

So I'm dying to hear... who's got the BEST pizza in WDW ::MickeyMo and what places should we avoid? We need the help of the experts here! :teeth:

Sorry there's no such thing to be found! Only "tolerable" pizza!

The take out pizza from the Trails End at Ft Wilderness isn't half bad.

The pizza at the Spoodles take out window is the best after a lap of drinking around the world! :drinking1

We like the pizza at Tubbi's in the Dolphin. You can get a fresh, whole, cheesy pizza quickly made to order. Love the Margherita pizza at Wolfgang Puck Express-Westside in Downtown Disney. The cheese pizza/salad combo at Pizza Planet is pretty good.

ever, EVER would I bother to eat Pizza at WDW when there are so many other good things and Disney just can't make a proper pizza!

I would rather eat a communion wafer than Pizza at WDW...LOL :rotfl2:

If you want good pizza you need to travel outside of Disney Property and try Giordano's (expensive but good). They are located up on 192 just west of Disney.

I grew up in Philadelphia and nothing compares to Tony's (Frankford Ave. near Levick) tomato pie

If you're not counting flatbreads at places like Blue Zoo (love the clam flatbread) and California Grill, the only decent pizza at WDW is at Wolfgang Pucks.

Reviving this to see if there are any new best/worst places to be added.
My family would live on Pizza if I'd let them :goodvibes

I'm from NE and I am not a fan of Papa Gino's. Probably because I worked there and got sick of it.

Papa Gino's and Domino's is BAD pizza. It's like cheese and red sauce merged with cardboard.

Spoodles is good. I tried the pasta at Mama Melrose and I wouldn't go back, so pizza would be out of the question. Toy Story pizza is ok but it's not like pizza from our area.

Haven't found good pizza in all the years we've been at WDW, but we've had really good flatbreads at some of the restaurants (WPE, MM, etc.). They're fairly large and very tasty! Certainly worth a try. :sunny:

That's funny, I assumed all the pizza at WDW were the same. I only tried Pop food court (individual pizza) and Pizza Planet (indiv pizza) and they were exactly the same and awful. I usually love all pizza, too. It takes a lot for me to not like a slice of pizza. But those little individual pizzas are just nasty frozen pizzas. I'd love to find somewhere in WDW to get a great NY-style slice.

We had Pizza planet 2 years ago, had to wait 20mins after paying-they ran out of pizza. SOOO by the time we got to eat it tasted not bad(funny what hunger does to your taste buds!) DD's liked the pizza at POP food court in Nov and also DD5 loved the kid pizza at Mama Melrose. I tasted it and I thought it was good. DB and DSIL had the pizza at Wolfgang Pucks and raved about it!! Hope this helps.

The restaurants may call it "pizza", but it's more like "designer pizza". Being originally from NYC, I have yet to find "real" NY pizza anywhere else, but I have discovered other versions of the dish, whether Chicago-style or "designer style". If it's good, I don't care what they call it................."Yummy stuff" is MY lable!

It would be great if Disney opened a NY/NJ style pizza place that offered REAL Philly cheesesteaks and hoagies!!! The best place would be at the Boardwalk since the theme is the Atlantic Seashore and there hundreds of great pizza/hoagie places at every boardwalk on the Jersey shore. I hope the powers that be are listening :listen: I'm just a Jersey girl out of her element. The crabcakes here in MD are GREAT but sometimes I would gave away my kingdom for a decent cheesesteak  Thanks for letting me vent :)

Everyone has their own idea of the best pizza. I agree with the OP that Papa Ginos is the best as far as chain store pizza. I love the thin flat crust. It is way better than the thick doughy crust or the greasy nook and cranny greek crust pizza. Around here (Boston Area) we have Regina pizza that can't be beat. I don't expect to find pizza like that in Disney.
