Check out my new shirt:

Race was wacky but fun to watch.

Will! Cool - new screen name!

I don't have any love for Kyle and he was doing that same old thing - that back and forth blocking of the faster car. I was glad that Tony had Jimmie for the push and managed to win the race. I'm also glad that no one was hurt. Casey Kahne's crash was a whopper.

I only caught parts of the race.

I need to go back to your site---I registered...just need to post.

Love IT! I've been looking for a good Stewart T - nice find :thumbsup2

I know - I thought for SURE he would be injured after a hit like that - woah!

So glad to see him walk away from that

Will just downloaded all of your new podcast you have so I can start listening this week. Also on a side note, since your a car guy it was cool this past friday I ran into Chip Foose in fantasyland.

What was your take on it? who do you think was in the right?

As much as I love restrictor plate racing, something needs to be done. Its bad when the winner of the race does not like the way he wins it.

Bottom line, is they were both racing hard, and doing the only thing you can do to win a race at Daytona or Talladega.

It does make for great tv though.

hey Will, did i ever tell you about the grand prix races i was at?

in detroit....i don't think they have formula 1 racing in detroit anymore, but for a few years they did....right down on the waterfront..

this was back in the days of Ayrton Senna (whom i was lucky enough to meet - a really nice guy...yeah , i know...i sound like a groupie )....

i have to admit that when i was first invited, i poohpoohed the whole idea....
i wasn't a racing fan at all...
i had never ever been to a car race and thought the whole thing was stupid....
but i went because it was this big VIP event and all...so i really couldn't refuse....

i had no idea at all what to expect....

my god...the sound of those engines was totally incredible.....amazing....

it was funny, because once the race started, i refused to leave the grandstands....
i was in the VIP area - the sound when the race first begins is beyond description...all those engines at once...right there...where the people are sitting....right there....a sound that surrounds you...goes right through you....no words could ever describe what it is that you feel at the beginning of that race........
anyway, we were all invited to go back to the special trailers with drinks etc (where we had met some of the drivers before the race).....
but i wouldn't go back...i wanted to watch the race....the cars just took my breath away....

so the next year when i was invited again, i was VERY happy to be able to attend...

but that was it...only twice (after that i was living on the other side of the ocean and then i think they stopped running the formula 1 cars in detroit)..

anyway....that was when detroit was still detroit.....:sad1:

Hi Will!

Good to see you on the boards!

I saw part of the race and thought of you!

Hope all is well!

I ran into Chip Foose in fantasyland.

Chip is one amazing car talent - I watch his shows quite a bit and let me tell you as an artist and a car guy that man is SO talented. That must have been something - I would have been speechless

Well - They were both racing hard and my two favorite drivers are Stewart and Kyle so I was on the edge of my seat about to freak out:scared1:

I think Kyle did it to himself - You can block once but not twice or well you know what happens - If he would have just kept his foot in it and held that bottom line it would have made for a drag race to the end and one heck of a finish - in my eyes - but when your behind that wheel and at Daytona - all bets are off. I'm just so glad to see that he wasn't hurt that crash was nasty

hey Will, did i ever tell you about the grand prix races i was at?

I love grand prix racing - my favorite is the Koni 1 challenge - because they race the same kind of mustang I have. I've never been to one of those races but and dying to make it out to Laguna Seca one day. Lucky you to get that VIP access - I'm very jealous :worship:

I didn't see it but wanted to say Hi Will!!!
Hello Hello - tell the little ones I say hey :)

Hi Will!

Thanks - I've been super busy lately and need to make it over more often, but things are great - Fishing like everyday with MinnieJack - and loving this Indiana weather - Hope all is well with you also :goodvibes

Miss you all! ;)

Yea I was pretty speechless. It was so cool meeting someone with his talent. But I was able to get a picture with him. He was in town for the Rolex race at Daytona and after we took the picture he stuck around with us and talked for a few, mostly mustangs as that is what I am into.

very jealous - post the pic!!! :)

as someone said on Despain's show - the only thing that could have been better, would been if Junior had wrecked Bush, and won the race!

Bush is one of the most talented drivers I have ever seen - it's a shame he gets such a bad rap - although he brings it on himself most of the time.

My man, Martin, was out early, but I still watched the race. Nothing like restrictor plate racing..

Dale Jr. was on the news tonight complaining that the floods ruined the track at Daytona. :(

I was at Daytona and saw nothing but great racing, and if JR thinks the floods ruined that track get some skill and drive the track....I agree that the trach is rough and very bumpy and thats what makes the race interesting, you actually have to go out and drive. You cant sit in your car and ride around letting somebody push you up to the front......I am kinda a HMS fan and I think Rick will make all of his race teams better, if Stewart-Hass racing keeps winning in Hendrick equipment Rick will make changes to hopefully make JRs team better. JR is the only one of HMS that is not in the top ten. I also thought it was a great finish, block me once ok block me twice your going around especially when I have a fender on you. Its not the plate tracks that cause the issues its Busch trying all he can for the win. My only issue with him is he is willing to talk to the media when he wins but when things dont go his way he is off to pout like a baby. GO HMS and Stewart-Hass, Tony will always tell you like it is, like it or not he will have an opinion.....

Here ya go we were right next to Peter Pans Flight. LOL

That is SO cool - Man I wanna meet Foose :scared:

Bush is one of the most talented drivers I have ever seen - it's a shame he gets such a bad rap - although he brings it on himself most of the time.
I really like Kyle - He isn't your average - Guys did good - she ran well - thanks to the sponsors - He brings so much personality and talent to the sport - He will go down as one of the greatest - just watch

I think I also like him so much because he isn't like JR - everyone likes JR and it just seems like jumping on the bandwagon - I'd rather root for the underdog or someone no one likes than follow the crowd

Dale Jr. was on the news tonight complaining that the floods ruined the track at Daytona.
Just looking for an excuse - I know you like JR Kathy - but come on he has just fell off this year - I think the pressure of not performing well has gotten to him - with Hendrick equiptment he has NO reason to be finishing where he is but his own skills behind that wheel

I was at Daytona and saw nothing but great racing
I wasn't there but TOTALLY agree - it was a great race and I didn't hear anyone complaining about the rain - good race - :happytv:

:)

Hey, Will! You can't hide from me by changing your name!

You know how I feel about NASCAR, but I'm so glad to see you here again!!!

It is SO cool that you got to meet Chip Foose, wdwfreeksince88! He is quite an artist and seems like a decent guy. It's amazing the difference in how he runs his shop and his demeanor (that you can see on his Overhaulin' shows) vs. what a JERK the late Boyd Coddington was to his crew on his show, American Hotrod.
