Hi everyone, I had planned on doing an extensive Dining Review this past trip for our honeymoon, but we decided to try and not spend too much money on food, especially since we just got married, bought a house and all that stuff, therefore we mostly ate CS meals and snacks… no dining plan :( We just got married on November 8, 2008 and spent our Honeymoon at Disney World December 12-18, 2008.

This was my DH’s first trip to The World, so I wish we could have enjoyed more TS meals, but hopefully we’ll be going in the next few years and can do so then. I am already planning another mother/daughter trip in May and since my mom is paying, we are doing the Dining Plan :)

Sorry, I didn’t take any food pictures really, but I will have a few pictures in here that you might enjoy. This will be a pretty short report due to the lack of elaborate eating, but I will try to make it interesting!

Here’s a little about ourselves:
princess: Me: My name is Carrie I am 25, currently a student, and work at an elementary school. I have been to Disney World 6 times including this trip. My mother and I first went in June 2004, and returned in June ’05, June ’06, June ’07, and May ’08. This was my first trip without her.

::cop: DH: His name is Justin, 25, he works in law enforcement, and this was his first trip to Disney World ever!

We met in college in the summer of 2002. We became great friends; he was definitely my best guy friend! DH is really shy and waited until 4 years later to tell me how he felt. We started dating in 2006 and have been inseparable since. He proposed on Christmas Eve 2007, knowing what a Christmas lover I am, which made it nice to actually get to visit Disney in December.

I really wanted him to get to explore Disney World and see why my mom and I always return here. He was very excited, and we had a great time, despite a few setbacks.

Here is a picture of us

Okay, now on to the food! Unfortunately, I did not take food pictures, but I definitely will in May when my mother & I return for our annual trip. DH cannot go because of work, but he says it’s okay because we’re going to try and get both sets of families to go (we all get along great) in a few years.

Anyway, here is an index of the reviews (I grouped them by day)…
Dec. 12th: Pop Food Court/Boulangerie Patisserie
Dec. 13th: Main Street Bakery/Pecos Bill’s
Dec. 14th: Starring Rolls/Pop Food Court/Cookes of Dublin
Dec. 15th: Flame Tree Barbecue/Pop Pizza Delivery
Dec. 16th: Chef Mickey’s/Planet Hollywood
Dec 17th: Pop Food Court

Where are all of the food places on December 17th and 18th? Keep reading, and you will find out!

We arrived at Orlando from DFW at about 12:40 PM and were at our resort by about 1:30. We attempted to check into POP Century, but our room wasn't ready, so we decided to go to the POP Food Court and grab some food since we hadn't eaten all day. We bought the refillable mugs and we each got and order of Chicken strips/nuggets with fries. We thought they were very good, I like these nugget things better than the strips they used to serve (maybe because it seems like they give you more). After we finished eating our room was ready so we went to it and checked things out, then headed to Epcot for the evening.

Our original plan this evening was just to take it easy, and we had an evening ADR for Raglan Road. We decided to skip it since we weren't very hungry and headed to Epcot to catch a few things and Illuminations.

After a few rides we decided we needed to eat something that evening, so we went to Boulangerie Patisserie in France where we grabbed snacks. I got a Napolean and DH got the Cake of the Day, which was some sort of chocolate, and we shared a water. We took them to a good viewing spot and chowed down while waiting for Illuminations to begin. Both of our desserts were great- I liked mine best, but DH liked his best, so we made good choices! It was very cold this night, but we had a relaxing first evening.

We are not breakfast people... don't get me wrong, we love breakfast food, but we just don't usually eat very early, however we were hungry from not eating much dinner the night before, so we hit up Main Street Bakery for a huge Cinnamon Roll.

Last year my mom and I made the mistake of each getting our own, so this time DH and I split one and a coke. I usually drink diet, but DH doesn't, and I knew we wouldn't each finish our own before we got to any attractions, so we just shared. These are the most wonderful cinnamon rolls ever! So sweet an gooey, I wish I had one right now! The long line was so worth it!

We had on our "Just Married" pins and after we paid for our breakfast, one of the bakery workers called us over and gave us a ginormous free sugar cookie for it being our Honeymoon! It was really thoughtful and made us feel special. We ate on it all week long!

Look at how big it is!

We continued around MK and rode a lot of attractions due to fairly short lines. I rode Splash Mountain for the first time ever (since my mom has always been too afraid) it was great except that we were in the front and got soaked!

After a lot of fun we were getting hungry again, so we headed over to Pecos Bill's for some lunch. I got the BBQ Pork Sandwich and DH got the Bacon Double Cheeseburger. My sandwich was pretty good, DH wished he had gotten one too. He liked his burger, but not as well as my sandwich, and he said it was just too much meat... very surprising considering we usually pack it in! I didn't try the burger because I like mine just plain with cheese, and DH uses all the veggies. Then we noticed people eating taco salads and thought they looked good. I usually don't get stuff like that because since I'm so picky, I just end up with a little meat and cheese in a huge shell, but I realized that you can go to the fixings bar and add-on, so we decided we would try it sometime :)

After lunch we did a few more attractions and decided to get a Dole Whip since DH had never had one. We each got our own, but we decided not to get a float this time. It was very yummy and hit the spot! :thumbsup2

Not long after that we headed back to the room to take a break. We relaxed in the room and watched tv, took a nap and got refreshed, then headed back out to MK.

Dinner that night was... Pecos Bill's lol. I know, twice in a row... but we really wanted to try that Taco Salad! We both got one and split a coke... it was pretty good, I liked that I could decide what went on it, but I don't think DH liked it too much. The BBQ Pork Sandwich was our favorite there though.

That's all for now... will be back soon with more!

Wow that cookie is huge! While reading you say it took all week to eat it I was thinking you guys must eat like birds, then I saw your picture :rotfl:

Thanks for the Pecos reviews we are considering this one for a CS at MK.

Yeah it really was huge... trust me, we definitely don't eat like birds! I wish I could, but I love food too much!

You're welcome. I really like Pecos Bill's... it is kind of loud there, but I think the quality of the food is one of the better CS places in all of Disney World. Also they have a huge fixins bar, so if you like stuff like that it is a definite must-do ;)

Today was our Hollywood Studios day. First thing we did was of course grab a fastpass for Toy Story Mania (which we later rode and it was awesome)! DH was hungry and I kind of was, so we headed to Starring Rolls and ended up splitting a blueberry muffin. It was really good, DH especially liked it, and it was big enough to share.

After many attractions we did the Lights, Motor Action show and then I needed to get back to the resort for a break and food. I was feeling kind of light headed for some reason, but I didn't want anything at HS, so we went to the Pop Food Court. Here we each got a personal pepperoni pizza and used our mugs. I like the pizza here, most of the time it doesn't have too much sauce, which is good since I don't like too much of it. I must have just needed to refuel because after lunch and a nap, we headed back out to DHS to see the Osbourne Lights and Fantasmic.

After an eventful day at the Studios, we were once again hungry! We didn't have an ADR anywhere, so we left DHS and headed over to Downtown Disney. We wandered around and did a little shopping. Finally we decided to try Cookes of Dublin, since we had missed our Raglan Road ADR earlier in the trip. We knew Raglan was probably better, but this helped our fish and chips craving.

We both ordered the One on One Fish & Chips basket and sodas. These fish and chips were really good! We both enjoyed them a lot. They were not real greasy and the fries were awesome... kind of like steak fries and also not too greasy. This was my first time to eat here and I will return! Very good food and you get a lot for the price!

Sorry I don't have any food pis, but here is one of the Osbourne Lights that you might enjoy :)

To be continued...

Congratulations!

When I was reading your post I kept thinking wow it took them a whole week to eat a sugar cookie. I wish I had that kind of will power. I would've downed it in a minute. But then I saw the pic! I don't think I've seen a sugar cookie that big before!!!!

Thank you for your reviews!!!

Thank you! It was huge! Not much smaller than one of those cookie cakes... it was yummy too! Thanks for reading :)

wow - that's one big cookie!!!!

Yes it was! If you're ever wearing a special occasion pin, go to Main Street Bakery... maybe you'll get one ;)

Your reviews are very good.

You seem to be hitting on some of my favourites - I agree 100% about the cinnamon roll at MK Bakery - mmmm good.

Today was our AK day. We didn't eat breakfast (although I did eat some of our enormous cookie before leaving the room) so we were hungry fairly early. After doing Kilimajaro Safaris and several other attractions, we grabbed some popcorn while waiting for the Finding Nemo Musical to begin. We decided to spend the extra buck and get the Christmas bucket- it's so cute! I forgot to take a picture of it there, so I took one after we got back home :)

We didn't eat that much popcorn because they let us inside the theater pretty early. After the show, we we starving, so we decided to go to Flame Tree Barbecue! This was my first time to eat here, and definitely will not be the last! I always just eat snacks at AK and then go somewhere else for lunch, but this was awesome! We decided to share the Beef Sandwich, it was really big and it tasted sooo good! It came with baked beans, which DH said were okay... I'm not into beans unless they're refried, so we also ordered onion rings and shared them; they were really good, not too greasy. We usually eat a lot, but the sandwich and onion rings were both a lot of food and filled us up!

Here are a couple AK Photopass pictures
image1jg5.jpg

This one made me feel awkward and you can tell in the picture... the guy told me to send it to my family and tell them we had a baby... it was funny, but people were laughing at us! I said we just got married, and that will be a long time!
image2xp9.jpg

Just a side note... I recommend Photopass... in the past, my mom and I never had any picture of us together, so last year I pre-ordered the cd online (which is cheaper than at the parks), and was happy with our pictures. I did it this time too so that we could have pictures together!

After lunch we headed back to our room and took a break. Then we headed out to the MK and had a great time! I believe it was extra magic hours, so we stayed a little late, but didn't want to get stuck in the crowds leaving at the end either. We got some churros from a stand; they were okay, but not as good as the ones I have had at the Mexico pavilion on a previous trip! We decided just to go back to the room and order pizza in. We ordered a large pepperoni... they're pizza is expensive, but it was really good! I felt though like we wasted some money on something that we were not able to finish and ended up throwing some of it away. Definitely a good idea though if you have more than 2 people in your group! :thumbsup2[/CENTER]

After a fun-filled long day, we were ready to turn in! More coming soon...

Well today was our free day... meaning we would go around and do things we hadn't already or repeats and just enjoy park hopping!

We had a 10:30 AM ADR at Chef Mickey's for breakfast. (I called the first day I was allowed to and this was the earliest time I could get!) I had never been here before and of course DH hadn't so we were excited! We took the bus to Epcot and hopped on the monorail from there to get to the Contemporary. DH was so cute; he was a little nervous because he's really shy and since it was our honeymoon he was afraid they would make a big deal out of it... and he was right! But neither of us got embarrassed, and we were even given a special cupcake for it :)

tns5031359nl2.jpg

It was yummy & the Mickey on top was chocolate! I thought it was plastic, but no it was chocolate, and very sweet!

We had a great time; I would definitely go back! All of the food was fresh; I would have liked to have eaten more, but people kept watching us since they announced our honeymoon, so next time I'll pig out more :) The characters came around an interacted a lot (some even twice- Minnie kept blowing kisses to DH, and my waitress told me to keep an eye on her) Our service was really great here too; our waitress was very friendly and she refilled our drinks & cleared our table timely, brought us the cupcake, and took some our pictures. I definitely suggest this meal for anyone that likes the characters and good breakfast food!

Here's a few character pics:

After breakfast we got back on the monorail and strolled around Epcot. It was very nice weather and we got to ride a lot of things. I rode Test Track for the first time because I've been afraid in the past, but I really liked it!

That afternoon, we went back to the room for a little R&R. We were kind of hungry though, but had eaten a big breakfast, so we just each got a sundae from the food court at POP- very good! You could choose 3 scoops of ice cream- mine had cookies & cream, vanilla, chocolate, and caramel topping. DH had the same ice cream flavors, but I don't remember the rest. Just an FYI- I believe that this counts as a snack on the DDP; it's filling and very good! We weren't on the Dining Plan this time, but something to keep in mind! :thumbsup2

After resting, we were hungry again that night, so we decided to go to DTD and shop, then eat at Planet Hollywood. It's not my fav, but it's not bad. We had a voucher for there though, so we decided to use it.

We ordered drinks (our first & last of the trip- we had planned on more, but you'll see why we don't get any more later). I got The Blue Lagoon- Blend of Ketel One, blue curacao, pineapple juice and pink lemonade. Man it was good, but very strong- I still finished it all though! I also had a diet coke with the meal. DH just ordered a beer; he's a beer expert, but just stuck with Miller Lite or something this time.

For dinner DH ordered the Turkey Club w/fries- Turkey breast, hickory smoked bacon, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise on fresh artisan bread (No mayo for us though! :crazy2: ) I ordered the LA Lasagna- Fresh pasta tubes filled with ricotta cheese and bolognese meat sauce fried to a golden brown with garlic cream and tomato basil sauces; it was very tasty! I wish I could have eaten it all, but it was just too rich! I ate a little over half and DH finished the rest. He liked his Turkey Club, but didn't think it was anything special.

We continued to shop a little more at DTD, then headed back to our room for some shut eye :)
