Looking to head down for AAU Volleyball June 18-23 and there's not a moderate room to be found. Really???????? Pop and AS Sports are open for aau discount but I'm willing to pay a bit more for a queen bed and a restaurant. I know there's construction at cbr and csr (my heart!) but nothing at por riverside or fq either? Zero, zippo, zilch? Boooooooooo, I don't wanna stay off site......

CBR and CSR both have multiple buildings closed down, taking out several hundred rooms. It is a popular week, as it is near the start of summer for many northern schools, and is before the truly beastly heat begins.

Try booking with a third party site like Expedia. Last year when I couldn't find a room at the resort I wanted, I was able to book with Expedia (at a lower price).

have you checked with Swan or Dolphin, maybe they have something you book at a similar price as a moderate. No magical express but Uber could be a possible route to take.

The top two suggestions are excellent. But wow! I just checked on them and you are right! The only thing I see is the Swan, and at the rate they have, AKL is not too far off in price.

Swan is close to 300 even with teacher discount so can do. I'll check 3rd party sites (good idea!) and still waiting on ideas, if any, from my ta. Thanks for listening to my whine! lol

Lots of people from the UK (and I imagine from the US) have had free moves from CBR (and now starting to move from CSR) to POR and POFQ so I imagine these resorts are full just from the moves.

I was able to find a room at a good rate with the TA but in the end went with booking offsite. Not gonna like it but I'll say I did it and move on.

Because MANY did not want to deal with the construction and all moved to POR/FQ.

I would have looked into renting points at OKW or SSR. When you rent points, you can often get a studio at those resorts cheaper than many of the moderate rooms and still have all the perks such as Magical Express.

Keep checking. One day I looked and nothing was available at the resort we wanted. Next day, availability popped up.
