I did the Chef's Table at V&A's for this past b-day (8th anniversary of my 30th b-day!). It was simply amazing; they truly know how to make you feel like a celebrity. I believe the price was around the $175.00 a person, and add another $75.00 a person if you want the wine pairing (for our party of 4 with one having the wine pairing, our bill was $1,000.00 including gratuity). Be prepared if you do try the pairing, I had to stop after course #5, in a 10 course dinner.
We had Chef Amy as our chef for the night, she was amazing. With each main course she would come and explain to us what we were served, how it was prepared, and how the flavors pair. On courses between the main courses, our Victoria or Albert(waiter and waitress) would present and explain the dishes.
They do ask if you have allergies or if you have other dietary needs, or dislikes. I was hesitant on trying the froie gras (duck liver), but I am so glad I did. I tried everything that the chef prepared and was not disappointed one bit (the best was the $150.00 a pound Kobe beef). At the end of the meal they presented us with a goodie bag to go, and the ladies at the table are presented a long stem rose. Each of us was also presented with a personalized menu of what you were served that evening.
All in all, if you are wanting a memorable night for a memorable b-day , I would defiantly make it a priority to make sure to call on the 180th day out first thing in the morning to get my reservation in!
