Where would you stay offsite?

Sorry- I forgot to get back to this until I just saw it again today.

We stayed in WH the week of thanksgiving and the week after. It was 14 nights.

We stayed in Storytime 2. It was a very nice townhouse. The location was great. I loved the view out the back. The decorations were very nice. It was very expensive. The things I didn't like were: No sun on the pool. The pool area was dirty, there were a lot of chipped dishes, the toaster didn't work good, the coffee pot needed to be replaced (it was old, and worn out. I had to guess which buttons to push :rotfl:) The tv in the master bedroom was in really bad shape, and the remote didn't work even after we replaced the batteries. No pool towels, but there were plenty of regular towels. These things could all be easily fixed. For the price we paid I felt they should have been taken care of.

For $400.00 less (including pool heat) my dad stayed at www.orlandovacationrentalsneardisney.com. His house was very nice. The decorations were great. No mickey bedroom. The furniture was in better shape. The location wasn't very nice. I don't mind a longer walk to the clubhouse, but the view out his back was not nice. He did have sun on his pool. The furniture in his house was in better shape. His living room TV was not a flat screen. No big deal to me, but my dad was bothered by it. I think they had a nicer stove than we did if I remember right. They also had some board games which was nice.

For $500.00 less than we paid (including pool heat) my sister stayed at www.orlando-villa-holiday.com. Their property was very plain. No fancy decorations, but it was adequate. She was just a short walk from our house. Her back yard view was okay. The living room tv was nice. I didn't check out the master bedroom. She had plenty of pool towels and shared with us! This was one of the lowest quotes we got from the windsorhillsrent website. I almost went with it, but in the end I wanted the Mickey decorations. On further consideration I think I would have rather saved the money.

You really have to decide what you want in a house. There are so many choices out there!

This is where we stayed. http://www.storytimeorlandorental.com/index.html

We stayed in townhouse # 2.

It was very nice, but the price was more than some of the other homes. I really wanted a Mickey bedroom. I think now I realize that isn't as important as I thought. I was a little upset about how much more we paid than my sister, and my dad. They paid a lot less, and their homes had pool heat included, and the houses were also very nice. All 3 of the houses were clean. Except our pool area. It was very dirty. The patio table had what looked like sticky ice cream all over it from the people before us. I was willing to pay more for a nicer home, but in the end it was just an okay home. I will say we had a better location. It really depends on what is important to you.

As for the splash pool it was great for the kids. It is very small. Pool heat is a must for winter months.

We still loved the house, I just thought it was overpriced for what you got. We also love Windsor Hills in general, and will be staying there again. The kids love the pool and playground areas.

Just got back from Windsor Hills. We stayed Storytime 1 and had a very positive experience.

I thought the Sheraton Vistana, Lake Buena Vista was nice. We stayed there last September for $119 per night for a 2 BDRM condo. I am not one for staying off property too much but I would stay here again. the pool was nice, there was a great little trading post, very close to a liquor store and Walgreens. The other thing I thought was wonderful, it was actually closer to many of the parks compared to some on property sites. Close as well to DTD. If you are familiar at al with Vista Way (it is the complex that houses Disney College Program members) it is literally right across the street from it.

We've stayed in Mickey's World - a three bedroom townhouse across from the clubhouse. Awesome owners and great prices. We've booked two more vacations there this year since we'll be purchasing annual passes. Website is mickeysworld.net It has a mickey's bedroom with matching bathroom for the kids.

I love the fact that I can pack less and do laundry, put the kids to bed in their own rooms and have the chance to watch tv and unwind without having to be too quiet because we're all smushed in one room in disney. Also, we save hundreds of dollars even with renting a car and paying for parking.
