Where would you stay offsite?

My neighbors are wanting to go the WDW at the end of March/ beginning of April for 10 days. They are a family of 5 ( 3 adults and 2 kids). The kids are 5 and 7 years old. After checking Disney onsite prices for that time period they were wondering what does offsite have to offer. Since I only stay onsite, I was of no help. So if anyone has any suggestions of a decent place for them to consider, please respond. They will have a car, but don't want to be too far away.

Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions.

Windsor Hills....hands down! Check our windsorhillsrent.com Fill out the inquiry form and then sort through them when they come to your email addy! we love wwwmickeyscondo.com but there are many other great condos/houses at WH.

I second this!!

We like the doubletree in downtown disney. It's walking distance to downtown disney and has a shuttle to the parks (although we usually take cabs when we stay there)...

Have they considered renting points or a reservation from a DVC member? Have them checkout the Renting points thread. That way maybe they could stay onsite

Another vote for Windsor Hills. We love it. We like the room to spread out. We get seperate bedrooms, multiple bathrooms, and full kitchen. Also having a washer and dryer in the unit is great. We have stayed in a condo, and a townhome. I would recommend either one. :thumbsup2

We stayed at the Vistana Villages and liked it. Nice 2 bedroom condo, pretty resort with a nice pools and clubhouse.

We're trying Windsor Hills this year. It looks great and I've read nothing but great reviews. We're renting a 3 bedroom condo near the clubhouse.

Thanks for all of the info. Windsor Hills looks like a great place. I think this family would like it there and like being able to cook since they follow a very strict diet.

Do you have a link to the townhome? We've stayed at a condo twice but the in-laws are coming along this trip and I think they'd enjoy soaking in a splash pool!

This is where we stayed. http://www.storytimeorlandorental.com/index.html

We stayed in townhouse # 2.

It was very nice, but the price was more than some of the other homes. I really wanted a Mickey bedroom. I think now I realize that isn't as important as I thought. I was a little upset about how much more we paid than my sister, and my dad. They paid a lot less, and their homes had pool heat included, and the houses were also very nice. All 3 of the houses were clean. Except our pool area. It was very dirty. The patio table had what looked like sticky ice cream all over it from the people before us. I was willing to pay more for a nicer home, but in the end it was just an okay home. I will say we had a better location. It really depends on what is important to you.

As for the splash pool it was great for the kids. It is very small. Pool heat is a must for winter months.

We still loved the house, I just thought it was overpriced for what you got. We also love Windsor Hills in general, and will be staying there again. The kids love the pool and playground areas.

Thanks...did your family stay in WH too?

Bonnet Creek! It's onsite, just not owned by Disney. See the link in my siggie.

We are staying at WH. I was able to get a mickey themed townhouse with splash pool for five nights for 470! Super nice people to work with and it comes with a jeep stroller, high chair and kids dishes. Plus they will shop for us and put the things in the unit for the next day until we can get to the store

Another vote for WH! We used www.vacationcentralflorida.com . Personally, we stayed in 404 when we went. it was a 3BR condo. But they do have townhouses with splash pools on their rental list. I think you said end of March, beginning of April. Their prices for that time are 2BR $595 and 3BR $645. However, they rent Sat-Sat only, so if they need other arrangements I guess it'd be best to go through VRBO or a similar site to find another WH unit.

We were able to bring less clothes because we had a washer and dryer and saved some money on breakfasts since we ate in the condo. It was about 5 minutes to pretty much any park. If they can't stay onsite, I'd recommend WH.

More good information. I will pass it along.

We've also stayed at the Sheraton Vistana Villages several times and really liked it there.

Yes- we were all in WH. It was a lot of fun. We could walk back and forth between all 3 houses in a couple minutes. I'll see if I can get the websites for their houses and post them tomorrow.

I'm anxious to see the houses your family used. We're booked with storytime but it's not until Nov.
