Where would you stay July 4th with no park (2026)?

Next year my family of 4 (DH and I, 2 teenage sons) are going on a cruise on the Treasure June 27-July 4. We will come a few days early and go the parks then, but will also have 1 night at the end of the cruise. So, if you were going to stay onsite for July 4th, but not go to a park, which resort which you choose?I think we will hang out poolside, and would love if we had a spot to watch fireworks in the evening. I don't mind splurging a bit, as it's only for 1 night.

I have done resort only stays for July 4th. Poly has the best wide angle view but it’s lower in the sky and feels at a distance to me. CR is closer to MK and kind of makes you feel like you are in the show but you have two focus points, the middle of the lagoon and the MK, since fireworks are going up from both. We had TPV rooms at both, so we could watch from our balcony.

I agree - if you want to see the fireworks on July 4, book Poly!!

Grand Floridian would have fireworks view from Gasparilla Grill, and Contemporary from their viewing platform on the 4th floor, but Poly is the most straight-on view and therefore the best.

Thanks everyone! I was already leaning towards the Poly, it seems like the overwhelming response is for that resort as well. I gather from the bit I read, and the responses here, that there are no good viewing areas from the Boardwalk resorts if we decided to watch the Epcot fireworks instead?

From the Crescent Lake resorts you can see the very highest Epcot fireworks, but it's nowhere near as impressive as the MK fireworks, where you can see everything except the projections on the castle.

For Epcot fireworks, try to get a reservation at Topplino at Riviera

You can book Fireworks View rooms with or without a balcony at the Dolphin. I much prefer the MK fireworks, but if you want to be in the EP area, it's not a bad choice and would most likely be more cost effective than Poly.

This is what I figured, thanks!

Thanks for the idea. I will probably spring for the Poly, but it's something to keep in mind, especially if the price difference is significant.

We did a night of CL at the Poly when we got off the Wish last Sept and absolutely loved it. It was a splurge but it was great for a laid back day hanging by the Oasis pool since the lounge is so close by and you get access to it through your checkout day too. Perfect way to wind down after the cruise. We caught the Halloween party fireworks from inside. CL guests get a roped off area of the beach for the July 4th fireworks as well iirc.

But even if you stay standard there I would definitely prefer Poly for a resort only stay as opposed to the Dolphin. And I love the Dolphin, mind. But Poly just has way more going on, you can monorail crawl, etc. It will be my go to for those 1 night post cruise stays from now on.

Thank you! This is what I was considering, to book CL, and enjoy the lounge and pool for the day. Was trying to decide if it was worth it to do TPV, but if CL guests get a roped off area of the beach, I might save a bit of money and just book resort view!

Stayed at and love the Poly but for our last trip we stopped by the Beach Club to look around and really liked the liveliness of the resort space plus the view of EPCOT fireworks was blissful. It is also a big plus that there is a boat over to the Boardwalk so that is our new goal resort.

The resorts have gotten extremely pricey so as a moderate alternative I would look at the Caribbean Beach, when we were there I noticed a lovely view of EPCOT fireworks from the path but I think you can see them from Sebastian's Bistro or Banana Cabana. I suggest looking the views up to be certain.

Yep, resort view CL is perfect. I personally wouldn’t pay the premium for TPV.

Hawaii is really close to the Oasis pool so it’s very easy to camp out at the pool and go back and forth to get snacks. You can ask them for to go plates in the lounge. They don’t have alcohol out during the day but they will get you some if you ask.

I loved our view from the Poly tower for fireworks. They also have viewing terraces restricted to only tower guests if you wanted to get a resort view and watch fireworks from them
I have a premium view duo studio booked for that weekend!

Thank you, this is just the kind of information I am looking for! I appreciate your input.
