suggestions for bigger family (6 of us) - our 4 kids enjoy pools with features (slides, etc)
2 bathrooms are a big plus - any suites nearby?

You may consider the Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance. It is within walking distance. Most of their rooms sleep 6 (two queen beds and twin bunk beds). The price is a little steep..it is about $250/300 a night plus parking. They have a really nice waterpark, that would make an afternoon break fun.
I haven't stayed there yet, but have it booked for our June trip for DD's birthday.

Hotels with suites and good pools...all are going to be pricey, around $300-$500 a night.

Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance
Disneyland Hotel
Grand Californian
Paradise Pier
Great Wolf Lodge

If your kids are little, HoJo's has a few family suites that will be cheaper, but there slide area is geared towards little kids.

Those are the only places I can think of with slides.

I agree with girimama33. If you can aford it, then the courtyard theme park entrance is your best option. It hits your requirements, walkable distance, and new and still shiny :)

I'll check out the courtyard - the on property resorts are really steep, because we'd need a suite or two rooms. We typically do 2 rooms at WDW - and are fine with that. Around $300 or less would be great.

I would also recommend looking into the Courtyard Marriott Theme Park Entrance. It's on the pricier side, but they do have suites which have a combination of beds and bunks. I stayed in the King Suite, which had a king bed in the Master and two Twin bunk beds in the second room. So it easily slept six, but it only had one bathroom. As noted, it's on the pricier side (~>$300). This hotel also has a pretty amazing swimming pool area (water park, complete with two water slides) and is within walking distance of the parks (<10 minutes).

Regarding the bathroom...the King Corner Suite I stayed in had one bathroom. You entered into the main bathroom and straight ahead was a two sink vanity. To the left was the bathtub (with shower head). To the ride was another room with the shower and toilet. So it was possible for someone to shower, while others brushed hair, teeth, etc. Still, it worked for us because half of the adults took morning showers and half took evening shower.

I have found the two bathrooms is the hard thing to find, we had looked at the Courtyard Anaheim as well but all their suites only have 1 bathroom. The kids suites at the HOJO have two washrooms but a maximum occupancy of 5.

Staybridge Suites offers a two bedroom suite with two washrooms but it's not what I'd consider walking distance.

Of course onsite also has suites which can accommodate your preferences but they are very pricey.

The other thing you can consider is booking two regular rooms at a hotel and asking for connecting rooms. That gives you two washrooms and 4 queen beds or 2 queens and a king would would easily accommodate your family. It would also give you two fridges if you are going to want to keep a lot of refreshments on hand - many rooms only have small dorm style fridges.
