Where Would You Register?

I was reading the vent about bridal regestries on the community thread, and I got to thinking. . . Where should DF and I register. We're not going to register yet, but I'd like to start thinking about where'd we like to register.

DF and I have been living together for over a year and since I've been married before we are pretty well set as far as household items go. We are, however, still going to register for a few 'fun' things we would like to have at target's club wedd (though we haven't done it yet) and we are also registering our honeymoon with disney. DF's dad told me yesterday day that his side of the family would most like give money. Hey...I'm okay with that!

We're doing Target's Club Wedd and the Disney Honeymoon Registry. The Honeymoon Registry is a great alternative because you can register for almost anything you can do at Disney.

DFi and I registered at Bed Bath and Beyond. We also have been living together for a while and will be living together for 3 years (too the day I just realized) when we get married. We have most of the houseware stuff we need, but I'm taking this oportunity to upgrade my kitchen stuff. I'm a big cooker and sometimes the dollar store stuff just doesn't cut it. Our list is pretty small and we have been hearing it fomr both sets of parents to add more stuff do register somewhere else as well. I'm thinking we may do target next to add some fun stuff too. Is it weird to register for baby furniture? I'm gonna need it eventually, lol

I registed at BBB and Dillards and then ended up throwing in Target so that there were places to fit in every persons budget. Target was a mistake though. The return policy and the registry updates were awful.

I highly recommend Bed Bath and Beyond, they keep your bridal registry on file for like 2 years and you can return items up until that time. We moved to another state a year after our Wedding and gave away all of our furniture,I had received a sheet set for my shower for a king bed and when we moved they didn't fit the new bed, I returned them a year later (not opened) and they gave me cash back and the price on my original registry.
I think they are great.

I went with Bed, Bath and Beyond, Disney's Registry and Kohl's.

Originally, I was going to do Target, but after reading some not so positive things, I switched to Kohl's.

my family generally registers at Macy's and Crate and Barrel. I threw in Williams Sonoma b/c I love that place and always wanted to register there! LOL

DH and I did buy our house the year before we got married, but we didn't buy any nice household items because we knew that we were going to be registering for them. We used hand me down or Target stuff until we got shower/wedding gifts.

I highly recommend all 3 mentioned above. The return policies are great and you get 10% of your registry completion. Macy's was the best, though, because with their registry program, you get 5% of all gifts purchased through your registry by your guests back as a gift card! They also give you 15% off registry items for 3 months after your event, and then 10% for the next 3 months. I added items at will online to all registries. I also returned a lot of stuff, though, and put that money toward the things that I needed (like cutlery!). Some may say "why register for those things" but some people would rather buy you something than send a gift card (personally, I like gift cards!)...

So...register at a major department store and then a specialty store like C&B or BBB... good luck and have fun!

We went with Macy's, Pottery Barn, and Williams Sonoma. We chose Macy's because it's the most convenient for a lot of our relatives (spread all over the country.) I actually liked the selection (and lighting) at Dillard's a little better than Macy's, but they don't have them where most my family lives (NJ.) Most of DF's furniture came from Pottery Barn, and mine's a similar style, so that was an easy choice in terms of coordinating with our existing things. And DF loves Williams Sonoma. Plus, my cooking can use all the help it can get! Our guests haven't started buying gifts yet, but all three have worked well so far. I like managing everything online, and they all have very nice websites.

After talking to several friends, my DF and I registered at Macy's and Bed, Bath, and Beyond for all of our household needs. We are also at Sears because my DF felt left out and wanted to tools. Finally, we registered at Disney Honeymoons, but plan to only pass the word to family members. Is four to much?

I don't think 4 is too much, it gives people a little varity in where to shop, not to mention more varity in the items you guys can put on your registries.

i am not even close to registering yet but we are pretty sure we want to go with Target and Dillards and I want to to the Disney Honeymoon registery but DF isn't buyng it for some reason? i have plenty of time to work on him though lol.

i am curious as to what negative things people have experienced with Target because I have heard nothing but good things...enlighten me please!

Ok, i've never heard of the disney registry. Is this for all the cute disney household items or is it for something else? I was there a couple weeks ago thinking how much I wished Disney had a registry...

It's a registry for literally anything that you can do at Disney. Your register for stuff and when people buy that item for you the funds goes onto a specially designed gift card. So technically you can use the funds however you want. Browse through their site: www.disneyhoneymoonregistry.com

About Target, I had fully planned on registering there seeing as how they have a wide varity of items, and decent prices.

Reading across many wedding forums, I came across a lot of negative on http://boards.weddingchannel.com/

Their return policy sounds pretty horrible, one rule being you can only return 2 items per year without a reciept, which is tracked via I.D., utter lack of customer service.

Just a hassle I'd rather not worry about.
One negative review I may have ignored, but there are a lot.
