Where would you live if money was no object?

Easy. The Dakota, NYC. Park view. Mulit-fireplaces, grand dining rooms, 18' ceilings, huge rooms, etc.

Money is not the problem, wanting to be around family is what prevents me from splitting my time between Hawaii and Ireland

A manager at one of my summer jobs in college was from Hawaii. Said that she couldn't wait to leave. But I suppose it can be good owning a vacation home - Robin Masters style.
She obviously wasn’t a retiree! I like the weather and relaxed vibe. I’m currently visiting family in Florida, and while nice for a visit you couldn’t pay me enough to live there!

Agreed. Forgot to mention Florida in my initial post but yup no amount of money would make me want to live there. If it weren't for visiting family or the theme parks I would never go.

She was from Honolulu. Said that if one got in a car it was basically ended up back in the same place within 2 hours.

Another thing is that it can get really hot during the summer months. 80s and humid isn't all that pleasant. I've been to Hawaii in June and February, and the latter was considerably more pleasant. In June it was hot and muggy.

I get the California and Texas situation. Unfortunately, I'm a native Californian and this is home, and I will put up with the ban on gasoline powered cars and natural gas appliances, and paying to get your gas tax refund from a debit card instead of just suspending the tax at the pump or direct depositing it and all the other nonsense.
And Texas, well my wife grew up there. The cost of living is so low there, it is tempting, but at least her family has lots of issues getting decent healthcare. And when you are 65 or older, you start to really care about good healthcare.

If money was no object why would you worry about a ban on gas powered vehicles? If you had cash you could do whatever you wanted.

But if money was no object you could pay someone to recreate a theme park anywhere you wanted.

You wouldn’t even know the difference. Your life wouldn’t be any different.

I heard that from people trashing other states based on perceived politics. I will say that typically doesn't come up around here.
