Our flight comes in at 3pm, get the rental car, get to the house, got to store for food- could be 6pm by then. We have a DS9 and a DD3 with my parents and my MIL. Want to go to WDW the next day at 9 sharp! So, where sould we go for dinner? We are staying at Windsor Hills. WDW or off property to eat?? Maybe a dinner that does not take all night as the DD3 will be pretty tired.

I would go to DTD for shopping and dinner at WPE.

We were thinking of going to DTD. My mom wants to go to some of the resorts also and look at the Christmas decor. I think that may be a late night for the kids (good thing is we will have 2 rental cars so we can take the kids back at any time). If we do resort hope do we have to pay parking at each?

Given that outline I'd probably just eat at the house. The little one would probably enjoy some play/pool time and the rest of you are probably a bit tired from the travel, etc. When you go shopping either pick up something prepared or something you can pop in the oven/microwave and eat quickly. With a big full day at MK planned, the R&R "at home" could pay big dividends.

If you stopped at a Whole Foods there are lots of fantastic and healthy choices. If Sam's Club is your choice, there are items there as well ($8 pizza, chicken and other items).

We arrived for an on site stay last summer at about the same time. We spent time at the pool (Mom slept while I took the little one out) then went out for a fancy Disney dinner. However, Disney handled our bags, drove us to our resort and room and took us to dinner. We didn't do any errands or shopping. Our afternoon was all leisure. If we had to do some work we would have probably just eaten a quick meal at the resort.

I kind of like that idea. Since we live in WI the kids will get a kick out of swimming in an outdoor heated pool in Dec! As for the weather in WI at the time of take off- who knows. WI winters can be pretty bad- the winter of 2007-2008 was the worst! Maybe playing it by ear would be the best thing. I did find a Whole Foods on the way to the house. I love that store! My fav! Might have to make a stop just for the AWSOME cookies alone!

I live in Cleveland and have lived in the Chicago area, so I understand about travelling in those Midwest winters. Here's wishing you an uneventful journey! Glad to see Whole Foods could be a viable option for you; lots of choices.

Once you are on Disney property it is pretty easy to get to any resort. The Grand Floridian is home to that famous Gingerbread house, but all of the resorts, especially the Deluxe resorts will be magical.

travel is hard. Based on your timeline, i like the idea of dinner in your home. get a chance to settle in, unpack, let the kids swim and rest up so you can hit the ground running the next day. The time change alone willbe hard

have fun!

I forgot to factor in the time change! It will be east coast time (one hour ahead for us). Don't know how DD3 will do. I think we sould just go to Whole Foods, go to the house and unpack, go the grocery store and have a quiet dinner at home. I will talk it over with the rest of the family.
