My mom and sister would really like to get some lobster on our trip, but I'm not a seafood person so I'm curious as to where people go for lobster on property at WDW? I'm thinking either somewhere that has a lobster meal or lobster as an add on.
Thanks :goodvibes

We have only had lobster in one place, The rainforest cafe outside the AK. This might not be the best place, but my husband said it was very, very good. He requested to go again to eat the lobster dish. It came with rice too and something else , but I can't remember.

I had lobster at the YSH. It was only OK. Florida isn't really a great place for lobster :(.

Best place for lobster? Head up Buena Vista Drive to I-4, east to Daytona. Then go I-95 north for a thousand miles or so until you get to Boston.

We recommend NOT going to Fulton's Crab House. As good as it looked, the taste just wasn't there....

Instead, try Yachtsmans Steakhouse.

I agree with the post about heading to Boston...or better yet Maine! But if you want lobster at Disney I would say the best was at the Yachtsman Steak House. We had the lobster tail and filet mignon and it was pretty good. My husband had some lobster special at Alfredo's a couple years ago and the lobster was really mushy.

What a timely thread! I haven't had lobster at Yachstman Steakhouse yet, but I plan to this fall. Thanks for the posters who said it was good there! I have had it at Le Cellier, and I thought it was lovely. I'm not an expert, of course, but I love eating! ;)

:rotfl2: we don't have that kind of time!!! Great city though :thumbsup2

I haven't had great luck with lobster at WDW--or Florida. The lobster bisque at Coral Reef is quite good. Good luck!

We have had the lobster tail at YSH and it was fine, just not as good as places not in Florida. Fresh fish is where the seafood restaurants at WDW excell.

All the replies I'm seeing are pointing to lobster tail. Is there anywhere to get an actual lobster? A maine lobster not a tropical lobster.

Why wouldn't you just continue your drive to Maine? :confused3

I believe Narcoossee's has whole lobster...of course it is somewhere in the range of $54, but hey, your on vacation right? Good Luck! :thumbsup2

i have had it at fultons and it was great

Because the Maine lobsters have no trouble making the short journey to Boston! :)

There are three basic lobsters generally available in the US. If you know exactly what you want you will be a much happier camper when your meal arrives. The Maine lobster is the only lobstah with claws. The Coral reef used to have Maine lobster but check menues to select your restaurant. Lobster tails come in two varities. Cold water and warm water. Warm water tails are the most common (Florida, Bahamas, Honduras) and they can range from tasteless mush to very good. The key is to make sure if you are having warm water lobster to eat at a restaurant that only serves fresh Florida lobster. Regrettably the best places I know for that are in the Keys and not Orlando. The better lobster tail is a cold water tail (Australian, South African, New Zealand). Theese are firmer, sweeter and more expensive. If you are looking at surf n Turf or a mixed platter like in the photo above be sure to ask what kind of lobster tail you are getting. If you get that stupid stare from your server as if you are asking a question in greek then select something else. There are places at Disney to get the whole Maine lobster that most of us are thinking of when the desire for a Lobstah dinner hits. ;)
I prefer to drive past the commercial lobstah pounds in Bean town and get them fresh in Maine. Them bean town lobsters are just not the same IMO! :lmao:

We have had it at Fulton's and also the Yachtsman, neither were good and wouldn't do it again. I haven't tried it at Le Cellier, but hear that it is good , the rest of the food there is sossoososso good that maybe it is worth a try. :sunny:
