Where would you go? Are some restaurants not kid friendly?

Ok, I haven't been to Disney in years. I remember we ate in the Italian nation at Epcot. I also know I ate at an Italian restaurant at MGM. My husband and I used to hit that Jungle Jim's for dinner sometimes . Although now I heard it is out of business...we didn't have a dining plan. But this time we do have the plan.

I don't know anything about any of these restaurants..I have heard great things about Cali grill and Shulas.

Are these restaurants kid friendly? Where would you go with 2 adults and three children ages 12, 7, and 5? I have to do one character meal..and am leaning toward Chef Mickey's? Any suggestions to a completely lost soul would be great!!

Have you looked on the Disboards menu's and restruant descriptions? These have been extremely helpful to us. Chef Mickeys does have the most bang for a character meal with classic characters! I have yet to find a restraunt at Disney that wasn't child friendlys so I don't think yall need to worry about that. Figure out which park you'll be in each day then find dining to suit where you'll be. If you have a question about a specific place feel free to ask! Have fun planning

Shula's isn't really child friendly. They don't have a kids' menu and they charge for sharing. They aren't on the dining plan either, so if you're wanting to stick to plan restaurants that's not really a good choice.

All of the restaurants that do accept the plan (all in-park restaurants except Bistro de Paris in Epcot, all restaurants at Disney-owned resorts except V&A, but nothing at the Swan & Dolphin and only a handful of the Downtown Disney restaurants) are pretty child friendly. The signature restaurants take a little longer and offer a little more mature atmosphere, but well behaved kids are welcome.
