I make our dining reservations in about 2.5 weeks, and I have most of them picked out, but am debating where to eat on the day we are planning on going to DHS (April 16). I can't decide between the following (all would be for a later lunch, except Cape May, which would be dinner):
Cape May Cafe
Sci Fi
50s Prime Time
Mama Melrose (and get the Fantasmic! package)

It will be me, DH and DDs (6, 3, 1).

If you can get the Fantasmic package, that is what I'd do. Otherwise, I'd to 50's Prime Time. I have never done Cape May so I really can't comment on that, but we did the Sci Fi and I wasn't impressed. The food was basically counter service with a sit down price tag. Also, we waited FOREVER for the food. We saw the entire looped movie before the food ever got there.

IF the kids were all over 5 I would say Sci-Fi. With those ages I would go with 50's Prime Time, its still in DHS and fun.

I think the fantasmic pkg is a waste if your on the dining plan. it takes 2 TS credits, and the seats arent anything spectacular. the regular folks get better seats. Save the 2 TS credits and just eat somewhere else. I'd pick either Sci Fi or 50's to be honest. Sci Fi might be better, the kids would love the atmosphere. They have a new menu at sci fi now, more options for vegetarians which includes sweet potato fries. And they serve more burger choices, including steak all day.

50's does have better food to be honest. But im not sure your kids (particularly at their age) would appreciate or even like the antics. Depending how sensitive they are, they might get upset by someone scolding them or their family members. They might not find that particularly enjoyable. Lol! Although the servers are pretty good at picking up on the family's vibe.

Good luck with your choice!

Thanks for the suggestions! I thought Mama Melrose was only 1 TS credit? If it is 2, it will defnitely be out. We will be taking a break during the day, so it is not imperative that the reservation is in the park, although it would be nice.

And that is a good point about 50s Prime Time...my oldest is a picky eater, who doesn't eat much ~ even if it is a favorite, AND pretty sensitive...

If you're going to want to watch fantasmic I would definitely do the lunch package because you can show up later and get good seats without any lines and waiting. If not doing fantasmic then I personally would pic the 50's place because the food looks better to me online but I've never been. Cape May is one of my WDW fav's and I don't know if I could pass up a dinner at their wonderful seafood buffet w/ all u can eat crab legs every night!!! It's also a great break/change of scenery from the parks. http://www.wdwinfo.com/images/smilies/surf.gif

Unless it has changed since May the Mama Melrose Fantasmic package is just 1 TS.

I say Cape May!! We are going the same week and will be at DHS the 15th:goodvibes, we will be having dinner at Cape May. The kids love taking the boat from DHS to Beach Club and have a nice dinner. The tables at Cape may are covered in paper and you can color on the table. The food is good, the desserts are yummy.

My favorite for food and overall best pick for you is Cape May dinner. However, I do see value in the F! package. And the F! package is only 1 TS credit at MM - it is 2 TS credits at HBD. If you want the certainty of F!, take the MM package. Otherwise, take the boat (look, kids! it's another ride!!) from DHS to Cape May.

I think your two youngest would not really "get" 50s PT and might be somewhat frightened at Sci-Fi.
