I am looking for a restaurant to celebrate DD's 2 year birthday and first trip to Disney.

I would like to stay on the monorail line (in or out of park) and would love steak and of seafood on the menu.

Catch is, we are going next month, so Im not sure what the availability will be.

So, where would you choose?? THANKS!

If you can get in I think that she would enjoy Chef Mickey's. They give the birthday girl a special placemat signed by the Fab 5 (its printed this way) and they have a very cute birthday celebration.

Its a buffet and honestly I can't rememeber what all is offered. Either way I think that this would be the best place for a 2 year old.

Another vote for Chef Mickey's. Can't think of another one on the monorail that could top CM for a 2 year old.

I also agree go to chef Mickey's at the Contemporary. You can see Cinderella, Prince Charming, the stepsister's, and Lady Tremaine if you go for dinner at 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian. If you go for Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare you can see characters from Alice in Wonderland and Mary Poppins. You could also go for Breakfast at Ohana's at the Polynesian resort and see Lilo and Stitch and maybe some other characters. Those are the 3 resorts on the Monorail. If you wanna go somewhere in the park and it is for dinner (that definately has some kind of steak and seafood and also has characters) you could go to Cinderella's Royal Table (this is pricey), The Garden Grill (which is a dinner served family style at EPCOT), or Crystal Palace at the Magic Kingdom (which has Winnie the Pooh characters and they do a Birthday/Celebration parade through the dinning room). Whatever you decide, Have fun!!

Thanks All!

I should have mentioned, we are doing breakfast at Chef Mickeys on Mnday morning, so I am looking for a restaurant for dinner =)

I like the idea of the Crystal Palace...is that buffet style? What are the chances of getting a Sunday night ressie only a month out? I just called and they are closed? Can you check dining availability online?

Any other recommendations? :goodvibes

Cinderellas Happily ever after dinner at 1900 Park Fare. This was by far the best character meal we did. The food is wonderful and the character interaction is the best! At a table near ours a girl was having a birthday and the step-sisters made a big deal about it.

Yes, it's easy to make reservations online. Just Google "Crystal Palace Disney" and you can go right to the page where you make reservations. We're going to Crystal Palace for the first time in April, and I'm looking forward to it the most of all with all the good things I've heard about their breakfast. I'm sure dinner is also good!

You can also check for dining reservations on disneyworld.com The Crystal Palace is a great place for dinner. It is a buffet. The characters usually featured are Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, and Eeyore. They will sing to the Birthday girl and bring her out a cupcake. But be sure to let them know either at check in or tell your waiter. Another good place that I mentioned before is 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian. This is also a buffet. The characters featured are Cinderella, Prince Charming, Anastasia, Drizella, and Lady Tremaine. Again any sit down dinner you go to be sure to tell them that you are celebrating a birthday and they will bring you out a birthday cupcake and sing. Have Fun!

Not sure why no one has mentioned Coral Reef......????

It is in Epcot, but can be reached via the monorail. It is a fabulous place for steak and seafood. The large aquarium is also a big entertainment factor for kids.
You can check out the menu and see if it would be something you are looking for.

That is a great restaurant. I think the reason noone mentioned Epcot is because usually when someone refers to the monorail line near the park, they are talking about the resorts around MK. True, you can ride a monorail to Epcot, but not the same monorail as at MK. You have to transfer to new monorail at TTC and it can be a time eater.

That said, if the OP doesn't mind, there are some great choices at Epcot including Coral Reef.
