Where would you eat?

Here's my situation, we fly into Orlando at like 7:30ish at night on a Thursday. So by the time we arrive by ME, check in, get to our rooms, relax for a few...we're going to want to eat, I'm guessing it'll be close to 9:00 pm by then...It's me, DH and 4 year old DD. We're on the dining plan but I really wanted to try Fulton's Crab House out but I'm thinking with as late as it will already be by the time we get there...DD might be in crabby mode and with the big day she's already had with flying and all the weird places...she might not sit very well in there and I don't know if this is a good place for a toddler anyway...:confused3 I REALLY wanted crab legs, any other suggestions downtown? We're staying at POFQ so this is close for us to go eat and walk around as the parks will be near closing anyway...or anything kid friendly but good food downtown? We'll probably just pay out of pocket as I have most of our DP set up for the rest of the trip anyway...ooooorrrr...anything good over at Riverside we could just walk over to? Probably just keeping it low key since DD had such a big day. Hoping she naps on the flight so she's ready to go when we land and not be super tired. Our drive to the airport is like 2 hours as it is...Probably hit fast food in the airport before we fly out so we're not starving when we land in Orlando...

My DD is 6 and I couldn't imagine doing a full sit down meal that late after that much excitement. If you really feel the need to then I would stay at your resort and dine there and then get back to go to bed. We fly in around 3:00 and I figure we will get to our room around 5:00 or so. I have made 7:00 reservations at Grand Floridian Cafe. I am planning on taking a cab there as we will not have a vehicle and don't want to take Disney transportation there. I was hoping to see some fireworks while we were there and then take the boat over to MK and catch a bus back to POP. If I was getting in later though I would have just planned the POP food court!

This last week, our flight arrived at 7:40. By the time we got to our room it was 9:00. We just ate at our resort, it was way to late to try and go somewhere else.

We have stayed at POFQ, and the boat to DD moves pretty slow, buy the time the boat lands at DD and you get to any resturant, It could be close to 10:00. I sure wouldn't want to try it with a Toddler!

I'll advise you not to waste your money at Fulton's regardless of the time of day you want to eat. :)

If you want decent crab legs go to Joe's just outside of DTD (just beyond Crossroad's Plaza). They'll offer you a variety, cooked well, and not overpriced. :D

At that hour of the night, with a child as young as yours, I'd either eat at the resort, or go to Earl of Sandwich or some other easy to eat place. I'd not push a little one so far that late at night. Give the child a chance to catch up and get a decent rest, so that everyone will be ready to enjoy the parks the next day. ::yes:: Presuming you are going to the parks the next day! :teeth:

we'll be getting out and about our first night around 8... i hope.

anyway, i have us going ot Earl of Sandwich at DTD that first night. i would like to pick up a little xmas tree while there (dtd) to put in our room for the week. :)

Both POFQ and POR have very nice food courts although we have only eaten at POR. I bet you will be starved so I would just eat there especially with arriving as late as you are. Don't make the same mistake we did and save your CS/SC meals for your park days. We had a bunch left over. Go ahead and use them and then pay OOP at the end of your trip if you need to.

On some nights they have a piano player in the POR bar who is kid friendly. That may be a nice welcome to disney. I think he plays Wed through Sat. This may be a good time to check out POR. It is a beautiful resort. I also really liked their "create your own pasta" bar.

I would recommend Johnnie's Hideaway. This restaurant is in the Crossroads just outside of Disney property, but the food and service is UNBELIEVABLE. Some of the best Seafood and Steaks you will every eat. It is a little pricey but well worth every penny.
It will cost less than Fulton's and the quality of your dinner will be much better. Also much better that Joe's Crab Shack. Check it out.
