Here's a question. My dh, ds (6) and I are going to Florida in October for a conference. My ds and I get to play all day while dad gets to work (boo hoo). Anyways, I will be turning 40 while I am down there and can't decided where I want to go to dinner.

I need to keep in mind my ds so we won't be going anywhere too fancy.

I would love to hear your opinions. I was thinking of the Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge. It sounds like a lot of fun.

 :confused3 :cool1:

Well, some of the "fancy" places are rather kid friendly.

We are heading to Citricos and then to CA Grill for our 30th Birthday celebration. I'd love to do V&A, but... maybe for NYE....

If those aren't feasible, how about Le Cellier?
Are you on the dining plan?

Be aware that if you go to WCC, you'll be greatly embarassed! :thumbsup2

I personally am looking forward to a birthday breakfast at Kona Cafe. I know it's not everyone's ultimate birthday meal, but it works for me. Of course this is planned for our trip next year, so I might change my mind. The most important feature of the whole day is to be at WDW with my honey at the MK and see Wishes! I can think of no more perfect way to celebrate. Maggie

For my last b-day I included Afternoon Tea at CF. :goodvibes (Dinner off site at the Melting Pot. )
Last year for our anniversary we ate at Fulton's, followed by a Cirque show.
This anniversary I have ADRs for the Poly luau.

Whatever you choose, hope you have a mgical b-day! :cheer2: :wizard:

Fulton's is a great place. Grown up, but caters to kids too. They have the paper table coverings so the kids can draw and some really good Macaroni and Cheese. My dd (then 3) LOVED it there! :thumbsup2

I have reservations for 7:30 at California Grill on my B-day. Do you think we will be able to see the Wishes show? I really want it to be special and the reviews I have read have been mixed. :wizard:

They don't guarantee window seats with the MK view (the CM that took my ressie included that statement with the non-smoking and business casual rules), but you can always ask and then say you are willing to wait a little longer. I've done that at 'Ohana and both times they were nice enough to seat us by the window with a view.

I think I read that you can watch the fireworks by the bar though... so if you finish dinner way before the fireworks begin and/or don't have a table with a view, that might be an option.

We are trying the Grand Floridian private dining for my 40th in August. We are not staying there, but were still able to do this. Because it is a last minute trip and because of free dining, most of the other options that I would have like were gone, but this should be very nice and different.

I went to Whispering Canyons for my birthday and had a BLAST! It is SOOOOO fun! They mess with you on your b-day so you have to be a good sport! I had to ride the stick pony around the restaurant and LOUDLY sing happy b-day to myself! THAT made my kids' trip! I had a great birthday- one I will always remember that's for sure! The food is yummy! DONT accidentally order diet pepsi, though...I wont go there!

OH! I forgot! Happy Birthday (early)!!!!Ya know, they say 40 is the new 30!!!

I'm taking my sister for her 40th too, I am taking her to the Contemporary also but we will just be finding a seat in the lounge or at the bar and having apptetisers (flat bread pizza there are awesome!) and then just jumping out on to the observation deck to watch the fireworks (its the 15th floor so the view is beautiful!) We do that when we go with the kids too DS 6, DD 9, they love it up there also, but with them its in the lounge not at the bar.
Happy B-DAY :bday:

I thought 40 was the new 20?

Either way 10 or 20 years off an age is great.

I am eating at California Grille for my annversary/birthday. :cool1: I would LOVE V & As but the kids are with us and we dont like to leave them in the kids club especially for a long meal like V and A s.

I'll be turning 41 when we're at WDW in Aug. and we're spending my Bday at Chef Mickey's! DH and DS9 made the decision as a "surprise" and booked it for me.
