Where Would You Eat For Your Birthday?

We only visit five TS eateries at WDW when we go there for an actual meal.
.
1) We prefer
. . . fine food
. . . excellent, top notch service
. . . innovative dishes with flair and quality
. . . overall great value
. . . relaxed and soothing dining atmosphere
. . . behaved and somewhat quiet patrons
.
2) The only sit-down restaurants we routinely visit,
. . . Sanaa - Animal Kingdom Villas Resort (one of my personal favs)
. . . Artist Point - Wilderness Lodge Resort
. . . Citricos - Grand Floridian Resort
. . . Shula's Steakhouse - Dolphin Resort (no DDP)
. . . Il Mulino - Swan Resort (no DDP)
.
3) Our (nearby) off-site Recommendations:
. . . Bull & Bear - Waldorf Astoria Bonnet Creek - Fine Dining
. . . Café D'Antonio - Celebration - Casual Italian
. . . Columbia - Celebration - Casual Spanish/Cuban
. . . Fish Bones - Hwy192 - Seafood
. . . Venetian Room - Caribe Royale Hotel - Fine Dining
. . . The Hotel Tea Room - Davenport, FL - Casual - Friday Steak-Fry, Afternoon Tea
.
NOTE: Now, for a real treat, go to The Hotel and Tea Room in Davenport, Florida on
a Friday evening. It is run by a real, true "Little Old Lady" (Miss Mae), who refuses to
charge big bucks! They have a Friday-Night-Only rib-eye steak dinner that tops Shula's.
The steak covers the entire plate. They get primals and do their own cutting of the steak.
It is an OLD hotel with a small dining room. Has an award winning Pastry Chef from TV and
he has Best-In-Show awards for pies, pastries, and cakes !!! Our total bill for the wife and I
(salad, 1½"-thick-after-cooking rib eye, dessert, and taxes) was only $66.00. They have a
nice Afternoon Tea. Ressies required for Friday night steak fry and most Afternoon Teas. They
do not serve alcohol, but you can BYOB for wine or spirits.

Personally, I have never been on my Birthday (it is usually on a holiday so scratch that) but if it worked out, here would be my itinerary.

1. Two Jalapeno Margs from the ditch.
2. Casual stroll around the lands at Epcot
3. Dinner with my fam outside on the Veranda of Rose and Crown with a few Harp's.
4. Arms around the whole family for Illuminations.
5. Casual transit to DS for nightcaps at Raglan Road with dancers dancing and vacationers prancing. And a few more Harp's with possibly a cordial for a nightcap.

DH says he would want to eat at Cali Grill, Boma, or Whispering Canyon.

I would love to do Il Mulino, Morimoto, or Boma.

We went to Sanaa for my birthday a couple of weeks ago. The food is wonderful and very family friendly. My kids loved the bread service and trying to decide which bread and dip was their favorite.

We just did Narcoosee's on my actual birthday. The meal was lovely. However, if I could do it again, I'd go to HDDR. I wanted to go, but we'd been there too recently and DW preferred we didn't do it again.

Personally I would choose Cinderella's Table for the atmosphere. We've taken my DD3 for her birthday there and I can't imagine a more special environment for a birthday meal. that said, I also think seeing the fireworks from California Grill would be amazing. I will probably never go for my birthday (4th of July time) so I'm super jealous - enjoy yourself wherever you go you'll still be in Disney for your birthday!!!

We will be there for my birthday and we are eating in the castle for my birthday! We celebrated our 25th anniversary with the princesses so I figured we would go back for my birthday.

If it were my birthday I'd do Hoop dee doo or Ohana. They make a big deal out of birthdays, anniversaries etc :)

My wife and I share the same birthday, although she is 1 year older ( which I occasionally remind her of). If it were just the two of us, there is no choice -- Victoria & Albert's is it. For a little less $$$, try Capa at the Four Seasons. Go for a 7:30 or so dinner and watch the fireworks from all three parks (if the times align) from the roof top deck.

For me it's The Wave at the Contemporary. Hands down favorite restaurant I've eaten at so far and that is the absolutely 1 must-do dining experience for every trip. The 1st time we tried it our kids were 21 mos & almost 7 (he was a week shy of his 7th birthday). My kids are usually open to trying anything at least once. Our son does not have a picky palate at all. He's game to try anything. DD is hit or miss. We're making her try things she thinks she doesn't like. She's 8 and at the age where she thinks she doesn't like something. She's also Chinese and doesn't care for rice.

I celebrated my 60th birthday at the Crystal Palace. While I was away from the table choosing my dessert my wife mentioned to the CM that I was there for my 60th. When I returned to the table I was surrounded by all of the charaecters. There was an announcement that the Crystal Palace was honored to have a special boy celebrating his 60th Birthday and would everyone join in in wishing him a happy birthday as Winnie and friends lead him around in his own parade. Tigger grabbed me by the arm and off we went around the entire restaurant in my own parade. Afterwards they gave me a birthdy card with all their autographs. Best birthday I ever had.

I've celebrated at HDDR once & Garden Grill another year. Both were great experiences!

We're doing a quick trip for my birthday next month (just DH and I). I chose Narcoossee's. I've only eaten there once before, but I loved it and want to go back! First time I had butter-poached lobster, and man oh man, was it awesome!
