We are going for a real quick trip in June.. 3 days.. 2 in the park. We will have a car. So I was thinking on the day we get there (we won't go to a park).. we will drive to AKL since I have never been there and have heard fabulous things about it. we are staying at the poly without a car in Nov and I don't want to plan a trip there then.. so if you could choose a dinner there where would you eat? and why? TIA

Jiko
Boma or
Sanaa

I have heard rave reviews about all!!

Jiko....the food is fabulous from start to finish - cant wait to go back again in November.

Jiko, we would not go to WDW and not have dinner there. Although we have not tried Sanaa yet.

I love Sanaa, but for me a trip to the World would be incomplete without dinner at Jiko.

I have eaten multiple times at Boma and Jiko, but never at Sanaa. But it seems all three get consistently good reviews here.

I would say it is a question of personal taste and how much you want to spend on a meal:

Boma offerst the opportunity to try many different things, but it is a buffet, so it is noisy and just not a very relaxed eating atmosphere. But still, it is a beautiful restaurant.

Sanaa is a normal table service restaurant with views of the savanna. I think it would be more relaxed atmosphere than Boma, but still more casual than Jiko.

Jiko is the fine dining place at AKL. It will not be super quiet, but I have found it to be one of the quiter restaurants I have been to at WDW. Of course this would always depend on the other patrons of the restaurants as well. Reportedly there was a dent in quality about a year ago, but we had a fantastic meal there in February 2010. It offers rather innovative dishes, but has some more basic things as well.

I would suggest to just look at the menus and ask yourself what kind of food you would really like to eat there. I think you can't go wrong with either of those three! :goodvibes

thank you everyone! :thumbsup2
I think we are going to go with Boma.. I think it would be a better fit for all of us and then maybe the kids will try something new..
thank you again. I love this board!

I loved Boma and Jiko, but if I could only choose one it'd be Jiko.

Would like to try Sanaa one day too though, maybe next year. :)

We loved Boma when we tried it about a year and a half ago. The variety meant everyone could find something they liked, and the fact that it was buffet style gave us courage to try new things, knowing we could always have something else if we didn't like them. We enjoyed it so much that we have made ADRs there for two different nights on our upcoming trip.

We have yet to try Jiko and the menu at Sanaa doesn't appeal to me as much as it does my husband. I just don't like the sound of the vegetarian offerings. That said.. We love Boma. We make sure to eat there once each and every trip. Never have had a bad meal and the service is generally very good.

If you haven't already checked out the menus for each restaurants, you should. :) Might make it easier for you to narrow down your choices.
