Where would you eat an extra TS at MK?

We have a screwy flight schedule that brings us to WDW late at night and has us leaving early in the morning (they can't be changed!). We will be at WDW 7 nights, but really will only use 6 day's worth of TS.

So, that leaves us with an extra TS. We plan on doing a breakfast at Ohana on our MK day, so we're planning our extra TS for that evening. Does that sound like a sensible thing to do?

Right now we are booked at Tony's for dinner, but I'm not totally sold on that idea. Should we change restaurants?

What would you recommend in MK, or a resort VERY close to MK. I know my family won't want to spend a lot of time in transit.

Our other restaurants for our stay are Chef Mickey's, Ohana, Tonys, Le Cellier, Mama Melrose (Fantasmic Pkg), Boma & Coral Reef.

Since we're already doing 2 character mealsthat really isn't a priority.

Our party of 5 is my dm (61 and young at heart), Dh and I (early 40's), ds age 10 and ds age 7. Any great ideas or recommendations?

Thanks!

I personally would not eat TS in the MK - I'd go to WCC at Wilderness Lodge or KOna at the Poly for dinner. You could pay OOP for one of your breakfasts and even do a signature dining at California Grill, Artist's Point, or one of the GF restaurants.

We ate at The Plaza on main street, it is table service but they only serve sandwiches, salads and ice cream. It was a nice break from all the steak and pototao sitdown meals. You will need an ADR the place is very small.

We also like Kona Cafe & Ohana's at the poly, very good and quick monrail ride over to the hotel.

DH and I love LTT. You get a lot of food and the characters are a lot of fun.

I agree with starbox on WCC too, though. Lots of fun and good food.

If you were up to switching one of your TS ADR's, I would book the Hoop Dee Doo Review or Polynesian Luau... Loved both of them.

I'd say Crystal Palace. It has the Pooh characters, and even if your kids are "too old" for that the food is very tasty and you can't beat the location for MK convenience.

In lieu of that, I guess I would pick Kona in the Polynesian. It's more of a hike, but the food has always been quite good.

Since you already have 'Ohana and Chef Mickey's (I am assuming both for dinner), how about 1900 Park Fair at the GF?

I personally don't care for the TS dinners at MK so our first choice is usually 'Ohana.

I second the recommendation for the Crystal Palace. Food was good, the characters are GREAT, and the service was WONDERFUL, the best we had anywhere on property. If you decide on CP and have the chance, I'd recommend asking to be seated in Linda's section. She's a 35yr cast member at WDW, one of about 16 total on property, and is absolutely TERRIFIC. It was my wife's birthday, her first trip to Disney (ANY Disney property), and also our much-too-delayed hunnymoon, and Linda went WELL above & beyond the call to make sure that things were absolutely MAGICAL.

Enjoy the Magic, whatever you decide!

You could take a short monorail trip over to The Grand Floridian and try 1900 Park Fare, it is absolutely exquisite, and the Strawberry Soup is to die for. My dad was able to get steak, my mom got her pasta, I chowed down on a seafood lovers dream and my brother had an awesome prime rib :)

I would choose either The Kona Cafe (Poly) or LTT (MK). LTT is a character meal with family style service (a nice change from buffets). DH and I really enjoyed our meal there last summer, and we always love Kona.

Kona Cafe is my absolute favorite restaurant in all of WDW!!! I got the terriyaki steak with a side of shrimp with mashed potatoes and it was so good! Oh and the crab cakes for my appetizer. Everything there is great- and they have the kiddie cones that are so fun for the kids!

We also did the Whispering Canyon Cafe and that is a lot of fun, too! Our boys (then 2 and almost 4) had so much fun- they had wooden horse rides around the restaurant for the kids (and one adult- it was her "punishment" for taking off the goofy hat the waiter made her wear!) and you have to ask for ketchup! My older son still talks about the ketchup!!!

Absolutely! Many better choices just a short Monorail ride away! Concource Steakhouse, O'Hana, Cali Grill. So many choices!

We did the Concourse Steakhouse last week and thought it was excellent! The atmosphere is relaxed and nothing special except for the monorail overhead, but the food and service made it worth it.

We were at WDW the first week of October. We ate at Crystal Palace and it was very good. My DD's8 though didn't love the food as much. We also at Liberty Tree Tavern character meal and although the characters were great we did not love the food. So, I agree with some other recommendation from above. Catch the ferry to WL and at the Whispering Canyon. The food is awesome. We all had the skillet meal (ribs, chicken, pulled pork YUM). All three of my girls loved it and the restaurant is a lot of fun. The kids get to do a horse ride around the restaurant while everyone swings their napkins. And just wait till you need some ketchup!! :rotfl2:

Think about how much time it will take,

Crystal Palace if you want to stay inside MK,

1900 Park Faire for a short Monrail ride

Whispering Canyon Cafe is the longest ride by boat, will take up the most time, but still a good expereince

Food is great at all, it just seems with your plane schedule, time might be an issue.

Thanks for all the great suggestions! I cancelled Tony's and got an ADR for WCC. It sounds like fun!
