Where would you buy??? What resort??

Ok,
If Disney announced today a DVC resort at the Contemporary, along w/ SSR....where would you buy??

There seems to be a lot of feedback concerining SSR, both good and bad....

The Contemporary POOL in my view is outdated, and no real theme to it.

I'm spoiled by the beautiful DVC resort pools.....I would be disapointed in the pool as it is right now at the Contemporary.....

If I were buying, I'd be looking for a BWV resale.

LOL! Carol took the words right out of my mouth! I would by resale anywhere, but I would NOT buy at the Contemporary. If I was concerned about that particular location near MK, I would probably do a VWL resale.

start again - at the bottom you need to click on yes for the poll.

if you want the extra years - then SSR

if you don't care about the extra years - I would go with OKW - it now has a great new pool.

If and when the Contemporary becomes part of DVC - there will be a new main pool - plus probably a quiet DVC pool. but until we heard from DVC or WDW this is a RUMOR - don't wait for the rumor to come true - it may not!!!

I would never buy anywhere without having a pretty good idea of what I was getting.

My assumption is that if DVC is coming to the CR, it would be part of the resort rehab forthcoming. I would expect to see a new pool, and other areas of the resort fixed up. Maybe I'm dreaming here, but that's just another reason to take the wait and see approach.

It would also depend on the price per point, point schedule for the resort and other finer details of the resort's introduction to DVC.

It also depends on how long you want to wait. Seems to me that it would be a minimum of 18 months from announcement before they even begin to sell points, and a total of 24 months before the resort would open. That's a lotta cash trips for a non-member...

BTW, I tried a couple of times to post that poll for you, but the feature seems to not be working here this morning. The Contemporary thing is still a rumor. Who knows how much the points will sell for or what the point structure will be like. THAT would make a huge difference in my decision. If the point structure were the same as VWL and the points sold for the same as SSR, I'd buy the CR. But if the initial buy in was more expensive and the points to stay were more expensive, nope.

(And I'd buy a BWV resale. We BWV owners seem to be a pretty loyal bunch. If I were being cost concious, I'd buy an OKW resale - but the extra 12 years don't add a lot of value for me).

I'd buy resale OKW points ....but we love our home resort. The CR really doesn't interest me much...although it may interest me to try a stay there someday if they actually do put a DVC portion in...I doubt I'd ever want to own there though. SSR I have zero interest in owning.

I think Disney will do a great job at VCR . I can't wait to see the drawings!

I'd have to think about investing there. Versus an OKW add on. Sight unseen I have to say I'd stick with OKW.
